Well, you may not have taken my advice about not going, but it turned out better anyway. Now the kids get 2 Xmas's, how fun is that!!!! And you get a stress free day with your boyfriend and kids....

Hope your day is great and I hope Friday turns out okay as well...Maybe a miracle is in order for your Mom and she will finally do the right thing....

Jen, just wondering how everything went? I think an "intervention" by loved ones is a fantastic idea. Please let us know how everything went!!

Well X-mas went well. The intervention was put on hold as my dad had a stroke. I have tried to get my Mom into her old shrink, I gave them info from her last Dr. I'm hoping to hear back soon so I can get her in she needs help. I have not shared my meds. Sorry this is so short but have to finish typing before reads over my shoulder

Oh, Jenn, I am so, so sorry to hear about your dad. I will definitely keep you & your family in my prayers and will hope for him to have a speedy & complete recovery.

I'm so sorry to read about your father. You have so much on your shoulders, but seem like you're doing as well as anyone could. I'm glad you have some positive supports in your life.

We'll be thinking of all of you and sending healing thoughts.

Jen I am so very sorry for everything you are dealing with & especially with your father.... I'm sure I speak for the majority of us that you & your famiy will be in our prayers. Hang in there.

My Dad came home yesterday he is improving rapidly we are vary thankful for all the prayers they are working.

Well Mom fell off the wagon then fell of the toilet and broke her wrist spent last night in the ER. Dad has been walking without the walker for short distances.

It's so good to hear about your Dad's improvement, but then....your Mom. The E.R. should have tried to get her into some detox program.

I hope you and your children and boyfriend are doing well.

Watch your Dad. It may be too early to walk without a supportive device. Sorry to hear about your Mom too. God's blessings upon you and your family and loved ones. Your new year is not starting out well, but maybe all the bad stuff is just in the beginning NOw it't time for the good stuff Happy New Year.

Oh Honey, what are you gonna do?  First of all I am so very sorry about your fathers stroke, but am glad to hear that he is doing well....but ur mom shocked   What the hell?  I am glad that u have ur sense of humor...fell off the wagon, then fell off the toilet tongue   That was funny and sad at the same time.

 

What are u gonna do?  I hope that your father keeps improving with lightning speed...and I hope ur mom can get her act together before she falls off of something higher than the toilet....

Benzodiazepines were used mainly way back when (Your mothers hey day) to aide those with alcohol problems. Sounds like a fad she never outgrew and let it turn into addiction/abuse. I pray she gets the help she needs ASAP. Congratulations on your fathers improvement!

Well Dad is almost 1oo% drove himself to chemo and back and has not suffered do to the drugs yet. Moms complaining about the new cast. Geez I don't think she will ever see that drinking is the problem. At least Dad is doing well. Thanks for all the prayers.

Good to hear from you. You're right your Mom may never recognize the real problem but the good thing is you do. And it's great your Dad is improving. They've come so far with chemotherapy compared to what it was decades ago. Not to imply it's pleasant or easy in any way, but the doctors seem able to reduce a lot of the bad side effects in some cases.
