i have crohns and the pain does not respond to narcotics. i havfe heard of celiac plexus blocks- has anyone else heard of these?

Yes I get them on both sides every 3 months and they work well... but it is not for IBD but for abdominal pain so you should very much push for it.... since it is the same area we have a problem with.... Bowels...

Yes...
Well first you will get an IV
Than they take you to the CT scanner and than you get a local and than they will scan you and see where the clump of nerves are....
Once located the needle goes in a little than scan again to see if they are on mark.... if so they go in and inject the medicine... At that time they will give some pain meds as well because it hurts a lot...
That said... I look at as this.. a lot of pain one day for pain relief for many days... or even months...
With out these injections life would be some much worst.... they have enabled me to do so much more...
Get them you want to try it.... because it works...
