That is a very good question kara. I sleep....its just intermittent if that makes any sense. I am usually in bed by 9 to 9:30pm. Awake somewhere in between 12:30a and 3am depending on the night unless I get really lucky and my body relaxes enough to let me sleep until 4 or 5. Then I'm wide awake until 6:30a when hubby gets up and heads down to take his shower. Here I usually head for bed so that he can have the couch back and I can stretch out on the bed. If I am lucky to make it until he leaves at 7:40a staying awake its a good day otherwise I'm usually asleep before he leaves. On the mornings that I wake up real early say 12:30am I can usually fall back to sleep for a bit after 2 am when I take my pain meds and my muscle relaxers. But even then its sporadic and I maybe get 45 min here or 30 min there and am usually awake by 3 am again making myself coffee and staying awake for the remainder of the morning. On those days I usually fall asleep after hubby goes to work and sleep until 10 or 11 then I'm up for the rest of the day. Naps are sometimes taken in the afternoon for a couple of hours and on occasion I have been known to fall asleep in an upright position anywhere in the house at which time hubby tells me get your butt in bed.
He's now taken to keeping an eye on me while I'm in the tub per my request and if I'm real tired won't let me take one while he's at work. Can't blame him either with my falling asleep in the tub problem. Oh and the car is a sure fire way to get me to conk out in five min fast. Also if I curl up to my chocolate Lab.......I'm done for...she is like a sleep magnet for me. Something about that dog will put me out like a light in ten min.
Anyway.....I feel Mr. Sandman sprinkling me with that ole sleep dust again so I'm going to conk out for a bit.
