Pete,
Try to relax a bit. Waiting for an appointment isn't the same as waiting for a biopsy report. I think sometimes we forget how busy doctor's offices really are, and that's not condoning poor treatment, but think about
when you're really busy at your job and someone stops you and wants something right away. And then another person calls and does the same thing. And then another. Responding to the swelling is a different matter. THAT's what should get the attention first. The appointment at the Spine Center can wait.
When I was working full time (as a health care provider) people often forgot that when I was in my office I was seeing the people who were there. The phone calls are all on top of that. You can't do both at the same time. Sorry, I'm kind of going off and I don't mean to do this with you, Pete! I think I have some leftover frustration from a different thread, so please bear with me!! I just want you to relax about
the appointment, but keep on their case about
the important stuff - like that swelling.
And oh, do doctor's eat lunch? Not always. When I was workiing it was alongside doctors and there were many days that everyone grabbed lunch piecemeal throughout the day (between patients), or at your desk as your were doing paperwork and making phone calls back - often to insurance companies that make you want to pull your hair out.
