It has to be exhausting for you PA Lady, but you are getting there, one issue at a time. You are getting there, making progress, even when it must not feel that way. It is no wonder that you are so well thought of here PA, you are truly one classy , courageous woman.
Sending you some supportive, encouraging hugs. Sounds like you could use them today.

Thank you so much for your kinds words - and you bet I can use those hugs!

Things are still a little blurry from the eye exam drops, but at least it doesn't appear I have a torn or detached retina. He said if I got any new symptoms to call him immediately. I said I wouldn't have any insurance, and he said he would work something out. That beats my GI specialist; I have to now be under "surveyllance" having an endoscopy every 6 months for at least a year or two, and if the cells don't change, that continues until the cell changes have cleared. Then it's annually. So when I was on the phone with the GI doc last Thursday as he's telling me that, along with the biopsy results, I said what if I don't have insurance and he said THEN WE'LL WAIT UNTIL YOU DO!!! Not on your life. I will find a way to have that endoscopy in 6 months, even if they have to put a lien against my house. And it really makes me think about whether he'll be the doctor doing it.

I know you don't like giving out your info any more than I do, but desperate times call for desperate measures (or at least that's my motto as of late :).

PAlady, to raise the head is it possib le to put blocks of wood under your headboard or bed frame. Again just a thought as I have done that for several people.

Wow, it sounds like things keep getting worse for you! I'm so sorry to hear that. I wish it were easy & you were able to find a great med & treatment plan right away, so that you could be all squared away by the time your insurance runs out. I honestly think that you are one of the strongest people I know! No matter how tough your situation is, you never give up! It must be exhausting just searching for new insurance policies & payment plans! It's rotten that your dentist won't give you a payment plan - especially if you have seen him before & he knows that you are a good, responsible, paying patient. Dental work always seems so expensive. I think dentists make a lot of money as well, because many people do not have dental insurance, even if they do have medical insurance. It's also rotten that this GI (who just diagnosed you with a pre-cancerous condition, for goodness sake!) is not willing to work with you if you are without insurance. Some docs out there actually care about the health of their patients & work with them if they don't have insurance! I know my father does. Too bad you don't live near me! He really is an excellent doctor, and he's not afraid to take over pain management cases either. ((((((((Palady)))))))))

I'm so glad to hear that you don't have a detaching retina! Just the thought of that is horrifying (one more thing you need, right?). Hopefully your eyes stay stable for a long time. I'm going to see my ophthalmologist tomorrow afternoon (and the neuro-ophthalmologist next week). I'm really scared. Things have gotten so much worse again, so fast. I don't really expect much in the way of answers, yet at the same time, I'm really afraid that he's going to say something, such as that it is further proof of my brainstem's involvement, etc. It was so terrifying the first time he brought that up. He looked so worried. So now that it has gotten worse, I'm afraid.

Good luck with the rest of that tooth crowning! No fun! I hope you get a good night's sleep!

Frances - thanks for the link! I was on the website earlier and had trouble with this old browser and I was going to try an alternate browser but got too lazy. I will try it tomorow before I go to pick it up! My PCP gave me a nice couple for my sinus med nasal spray, which was great. So I will go to the purple pill site!

Fatherjohn -I've thought of that. It's just such a hassle when you live alone and I'm not sure how it would work. There are also some bed wedges and I saw one today that looked iike it had a gentler slope. I still wonder how my neck is going to take to anything different, though. Maybe if I can get a medication to work it won't be so bad. But I may be asking you more about the wood block thing. The people on the GERD forum (LdyJane is one of them - and she's been terrific to me even though she's facing her own challenges right now).

Skeye - I think about you so often, and so hope you can find an answer soon. Just the little problem I had with my eye (turns out I have a small "floater" which is normal for my age & not a big deal) made me realize how we take things like our vision for granted.

And don't you ever worry about talking about you in any thread of mine!!! This place is a circle of support and love and it's nice when we don't know where one ends and the other begins!

I have read your post and all the post that followed and I just haven't got words to express how concerned I am about you! I can see I have missed allot since I have been gone! I really  feel bad that I haven't been here for you! As you have always been there for me!  I am SORRY!     Please tell me  PALady, what can I say to you, that will help you, and make things better for you?  What can I do?

I know this thread is getting long but before it gets locked I wanted to respond to your post and thank you for the hugs and caring! It's hard to type through the tears now. It's one of those days.

I have to go check now and see if the nexium has been called in, but I drove the 45 minute trip into the pharmacy yesterday but it wasn't called in yet.

I did go to visit the cats at the Humane Society, though! And I even remembered to bring milk bones this time so I got to go around and give the dogs a treat, too.
