Spoke with the Vet today and it is Lymphoma confirmed via Cytology
We don't however know what type of Lymphoma it is. large cell, small cell, etc. Another test would need to be performed for that but the vet doesn't think it is absolutely necessary. There is some evidence that it might be large cell but there does seem to be small cells present as well.
She feels that Tabby would more than likely benefit from a chemotherapy protocol. We just need to decide on one. It can be quite time consuming an expensive (Just like everything else) She
Spoke with my mother last night who thought I shouldn't do it because it would be fair to the cat and to us to incur the expense but obviously it is my and my wife's decision and not my mother's Needless to say my wife is a bit upset by my mother's opinion.
Wow is this decision killing me. I want to make the right choice one that is best for our finances and above all one that is best for our cat. I have plans to visit the vet again sometime either this week or next so we can decide. This will be the local vet specialist as I do not think weekly 2-3 hour trips to Boston or 4-5 hour weekly trip to North Grafton will be good for anyone
and it really won't save us anything in the long run.
