weather making pain worse

I can identify, it has been raining for 2 months, with a part day here and there of sun, then the clouds roll in.

And Wed morning a couple weeks ago, I reached over to turn off the alarm clock, swung my legs off the bed and eased up and felt my facet joints crack. Within seconds, I was nauseous and pain ramping up like nothing I have had in a year. That was a rough couple of days.

Thankfully - These last 2 weeks, I have been able to move a bit and the facets have stopped thier issues. I am back in remission again, now just have the chronic pain to deal with.

It's definitely not complaining. Can you take NSAIDS? (advil, etc.) Sometimes I find that taking a couple of advil when the weather is like that helps more than the narcotics. I usually do it in between my percocet dose, but I don't take them very often.

I absolutely notice the weather, and the good part is the past two days I have only taken 4 percocets when I normally need 6. And all I can think of is the weather has been relatively stable and warmer. As soon as a rain front roles in, the relief comes to an end.

How are the NSAIDS with your stomach? and with Barretts? Is it OK to take them? I was just wondering about it, as I know they are very hard on the stomach. I know they do work very well for bone and joint pain, for me, I have been told to stay away from them because of my UC, and I have had problems with ulcers before, so I avoid the NSAIDS!

anice you are right about the weather, my knees are good predictors of the weather! I have had surgery on both of them, and prolonged rainy weather will really do a job on me! Then it is time to get out the Ben Gay and elastic knee supports! And the back is a whole diffferent story! I am really bent over then, and the cain is my rock!

I never know what I want.  If its too hot I want winter to be here but then winter makes the bones hurt.  Can't win for losing

I hope you can get a little relief and rest. Sometimes all I want to do is curl up under the covers and if you can that's not such a bad idea.

Seems like we're all related to goldilocks - want our weather not too hot, not too cold, but just right!

I hope you feel better soon....I CAN SO RELATE TO WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH....we are in Monsoon Season here in AZ, normally I love this time of year...unfortunately the humidity is at 57% with temps between 110-115 and NO RAIN...let just say it feels like an explosion in my body can occur at any second!

I have been reading all the posts just don't feel up to posting!  I hope you find relief soon and know that my thoughts and prayers are with all my friends here on HW!!

HOT!HOT!HOT! Hhhherrre.. OMG! It's way to hot here in Washington especially in Tacoma. I found one little clip on fan at Big Lots this morning and that was it.

I'm really stressing out. My blood sugar is whacked out with this heat, drinking water is not really helping my blood sugar stay at a normal leavel. The heat is not doing anything for my pain either.

That's what my son says to .... Right now I really want to be in Montana it's only about 67degrees.

I'm dieing from this heat and I think one of my 6 fans is going out... OMG! Well it's old I half expected it to be next on the dieing list. I managed to find a clip on fan this morning at Big Lots.

It stopped raining late yesterday afternoon, more last night. It just now started raining again. We almost made it a whole day without rain. Now it is coming down real hard. I know this whole week it has rained. My body isn't taking it too well. I am hurting so bad, it is almost unbelieveable how bad...And I contribute it to the rain, well storms we've had. I know I didn't hurt this way last week. The temps have dropped. It has been in the 80's instead of the upper 90's and 100. That is the only good part. I am ready to see some sun again. I can't take much more of this high pain. There is no relief at all. None of the things I've tried have helped any.

I did go to PT today. I almost cancelled. I was just hurting so much, I didn't think I could do it. But I did. I almost cried at a couple parts, but I told myself I had to do it. It might eventually help me if I keep at it. And the rest of the day, I've done very little. Husbands kids are coming in a little while. That will be bath and bedtime with a book for me. I don't deal with them when I hurt or don't want to.
hehe Actually he does the majority of everything when they are here. It's hamburger helper for supper tonight. That is something we aren't too crazy about very often. But it's quick and easy.And it makes alot. We have to make 2 boxes when they are here. Teenagers eat alot!!!lol

I hope you are feeling better tonight! It's been raining here practically non-stop since April. We've had no "summer." Usually at this time we are in the 90's with moderate to high humidity, and the occasional afternoon/evening thunderstorm. Instead, we've been in the 70's (sometimes not even that) with 100% humidity and constant rain & thunderstorms. This week is forecasted to be in the 80's (with more rain)! That's a shock! It is so horribly sticky here! I miss the dry heat in Portland. It was great. It was 105, but it felt like 80/85 to me, because of the lack of humidity. This sort of weather sure does a number on our bodies!
