I love where I live and I would guess that most of you do too....although I have heard that some would prefer to live closer to family or where it's warmer in the winter. Some people love to move. They love the new adventures and opportunities to make new friends and see now sites. Others would rather have a root canal without Novocaine that to have to move, especially if it's a long distance.

Way back...even before I was around...lol... children often would live on the same land where they were born. They either inherited the homestead or if there were more sibling some would build another house on the family place. But it's rare for us to live in the same home where we grew up, so I would guess that we all have moved at least once!

That being the case...how many places have you lived? Were those moves within the same city or area? Or did you move a long distance? Maybe you were an Military Brat and lived all over the globe. And finally ... do/did you like moving?

I'm part of the "Do NOT move me" gang. I don't even want to move within the same community or town. But I have had to move a few times. Fortunately it's all been in the same general area. I just can't imagine leaving the area where I was born and raised. Once I left home I moved 7 times before I was able to get the Ex out of my life. Those were all within the same county/general area. (A couple of moves were just changing from one rental house to another.)

Then I sold my farm and moved in with hubby. That move was 3 miles as the crow flies...or about 8 via the road. And I'm here to stay! We're buried in the middle of acres of 180'+ fir and cedar trees and it suits me just fine. If I need something from town I know where it is...lol So for the many years I've been living on my own I don't feel like I've moved around too much.

Have you moved a lot? Do you enjoy it or would you like to move again and to somewhere a long distance? Just the thought of packing years and years of 'junk' makes me shudder...lol

Raised here.....
Went to college here...
Married and had my family here....

THEN - moved to Colorado for two years. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it. It was everything I had ever dreamed of. Slower pace, friendly neighbors, we all loved the snow!, etc etc. Sadly, Colorado did not love me and my illness. Packing up and moving back here was probably one of the hardest things I've ever done...

Sooooo.... I don't know if it will ever happen - but I'd love to move away from California. I'd move in a heartbeat!!

Well as most of you know I have moved allot. Even as a boy, my father worked for Social Security and back then just about every promotion meant a nother move! I was born in eastern Indiana and then moved to Wiconsin Lacrosse and then to Madison, and then down to Illinois ( south of Chicago) that is where I went in the service from. During the 22 + years in the Air Force, I have lived on both coast several times all in different place New Jersey and Virginia on the East coast and three different places in California, northern, southern and the middle. Alaska twice Anchorage and Fairbanks, and Taiwan ( CCK AFB in Taichung) and Germany ( Ramstien AB Lansthul ) and in the midwest three different time at two different bases, not to mention my time in San Antonio Texas in Basic Training or the places I went TDY to, ( temporary Duty) So yes I have done allot of traveling, and I had thought my moving days were over! We built this house in 1990 and I retired fro the Air Force in 91 now the house is up for sale and I will be moving on, I have been (where I am ) the longest time, of anywhere I have lived in my life. But I know that home to me is where you hang your hat! and where the people that you love are at! For me that is nolonger here! Some of you have given me some pretty good sugestions, as to where to move. Time will tell I guess!
