Dear Suzanne,
Good evening *warm huggs* it is good to see you. I do hope you are able to realx somewhat tonight. I know you must be worried to no end!
Gum grafts arnt so bad. I wouldnt take anything before hand as they will completly numb up the roof of your mouth (might give you a pill or gas aswell), make a small incision and scrape out tissue. They will then close up the incision site (dont eat with food on that side for a week) then they will numb up the area to recieve the graft. The area that recieves the gratf will feel "burned" for about 4 to 5 days. Nothing too bad, but be sure your use Q=tips or infants soft brissel tooth brush to keep it clean. He/She will also prived you with Peridex (or somthing similar) and be sure to use it to "clean" both the incision site and the graft site after EVERY meal and dark colored / sugared drink. Try to say no to the soda, if you are a soda drinker.
I hope everything goes well!!!!!!
*huggs*
