Eye Pain

Oh Dear Chart,
So sorry to hear your eyes are acking up! What do you mean by plugs? In your eyes or ears? I hope tha A-B cream goes to work real fast!! I'm with you, I don't know how Skeye can take that eye pain every day!!! I get crazy when I get something in my eye and it hurts for just a minute! What an awful thing to have eye pain, I think I would lose it! I have so much respect for Skeye and now you for what you are going through!!!

Hi Chart:

My husband has been dealing with unexplained eye pain for a couple of years now. It started off where it was just once in a while, but over the last 3 years it had steadily progressed to the point that it is now everday, all day. He has pain, burning, tearing, redness, he feels like his eyeballs are swelling out of his head, and it is progressively affecting his vision.

He started with allergy drops, then antibiotic drops, and now he has steriod drops and so far nothing has helped. I really feel for you guys because I can see how much it bothers my husband.

I hope that the antibiotics work.

First I wanted to thank everyone, the eye doctor has prescribe steroid eye drops, name brand ($50) as
they work better, and had my first drop put in..it got very bad, that it was extremely hard to drive...
Lorie,Bluejet, mine started with an infectous boil (fever and all) in 2006, three eye surgeries that year
alone to try to remove it, was just in the right eye..this year I finally went back to my eye doctor as the pain was
getting to me again, this time both eye were hurting, so the eye doctor did that paper strip test for
sjogren's and then said that the sjogren's dryness of my eye's made the infection linger, so eye plugs
were put in to help keep my eye moist and I've been on an antibotic cream since Feb.2009. and now hopefully
the steroid drops will help..Have your husband tested for sjogrens cause by having the dry eye of sjogrens
it makes the infections come back repeatedly and men can get sjogren's, it's an easy test the eye doctor can do
The eye plugs can hurt, some but they do help I also use retasis (sp?) drops and an antibotic oinment/cream and now a steroid drop..
also have him try omega-3...I could literally feel the steroid drops helping today after the first use,
WhiteBeard it felt like sandpaper in my eye and I wanted to scratch it out so bad...and had bad thoughts and had to talk with
my psychologist today because of those...
I'm so tired my friends and will post more later fingers crossed for the steroid drops to work...

((((((((((Char))))))))))))). I feel for you!! I wish I had some amazing secret to handling the eye pain, but I don't. I'm just glad to hear that the steroids are already helping! Hopefully you won't have to put up with this for too much longer. Try to give your eyes as much of a break as you can -- close your eyes & listen to music, take a nap, etc, etc, etc!
Cod fish liver oil, vitamin E, and selenium are all supposed to be good for the eyes. That's the only thing that I can think of to tell you that you might not know already (you're too smart & experienced ).

well two days of the steroid eye drops and my eyes still hurt, everything is a blur to read
even with my glassess on..I so wish I was up to answering some posts and able to give out my
soft hugz to all my friends here...
