What tips make your shopping easier?
Dear Chutz,
Well I cant see to well. So, I have to wait for my husband for his "drive" capabilities. I certianly dont want to have another "Near miss". So, I have to have all my ducks in row!
For shopping I go once every month (month and half) for major items, flour, rice, pasta, meat, juice, canned goods, etc. Every 2 weeks for milk, eggs, cheese, lettuce, tomato, etc. It isnt easy. When I get tired I just stop and sit on the under carrage or shelves. I have to sit alot, but noone minds I dont think. When I get home I usually come in and put cream on most tired muscle areas, get another rest. Then unload the car. One of the perks of having to wait for my husband is that he can carry the large sacks and flats. Nice. Then the sacks are put on the counter to be broken up into gallon zip locks~~> IE Rice sack brakes down to 4 and half gallon ziplocks. Flour sack breaks down to 2 lg. glass containers and 2 gallon ziplocks. Meats aswell, so they are easy to access and use come meal time (im usually kinda tired in evenings). Also inside, nothing is close to the floor that I need. IE plastic cups in bottom cabnet, ice pops bottom of freezer, string cheese and juice box bottom of ffridge. Only the kidds stuff occupiies the bottom shelves. Come think if it, it is like that through out the house even with book shelves and thier books / coloring books / board games. So I guess my tips would be...
1. Rest alot and bring peanuts or "protein snack" with you.
2. Break down the flats and sacks into easier to manage/use sizes.
3. Only use middle and top shelves (if you can)
4. Pre-prepare easy meal (shopping / deviding takes forever) for when you get back
*huggs*
