Long threads hard to read

I don't want to offend anyone but some threads are hard for me to read.  It's not the length of the threads cause I do enjoy reading everyones experiences and suggestions.  My problem is that if they are very long and not broken up in some way my eyes can't seem to stay on the right line.

Not sure if it's the meds I take or just the way my eyes work.  Seems like I've read others comment about this same problem before.  So it doesn't have to be proper or anything as far as paragraphs go, it's just to help with the reading part.

I agree, breaking them into paragraphs or putting an open line between the major points helps a lot. My head spins when it is all just one giant block of typing!!

Mine are sometimes long since I just joined...and apologize for that...they seem to be broken up when I am writing them...are they this way when you all are reading them? Does it need to be even more? No offense to me..I want to do what is needed:)

I also learned to change my zoom level on my computer to 150% for most websites to make the letters bigger and easier to read..

   Dear Jag,

 

      I have the same problem. It is also hard with the extensive signatures aswell. Scrolling through entire page of a signature just to get to next response is frustraiting confused

Actually the owner of this website requests we keep our posts as short as possible because it can mess up the servers.

Your fine Snowbunny. Like Ekkrose said it's more when it is a long block of words that is hard to keep read. By placing a blank line every 5-6 lines it is easier on the brain & eyes to read.

Straydog, does that include the length of our signatures?

oh my! I guess I may be the guilty one here. I will try to split them up, to make them easier to read. Thanks for pointing that out again Jag. So sorry about that.

Jag! LOL you are so right...even I have a hard time reading my own post when I proof it! :)
I understand now, and see exactly what you are talking about. Silly Me..but still learning...
..I even learned something new on the Chat room last night.

I agree with you, too. It can get hard to read a long, long paragraph and I've probably posted my share over time!

Someone mentioned the signature length, and I do think (if I'm remembering correctly) that there's something in the rules about not having a lengthy signature. I prefer not to have one at all, but that's just my choice.

p.s. I just checked. Rule # 19 says No Lengthy Signatures, and asks they be limited to 10 lines or less. That even seems kind of long to me! LOL BTW I think it's a good idea for all of us to periodically check the forum rules. They're not a bad thing; they keep this forum as great as it is!

That was 10 lines regarding the signature, unless I read it wrong. Check the rules and see if I caught that right.

I think posts can be longer. I'd hate to have us counting lines and words, although I do know that very lengthy posts are discouraged as Straydog noted above.

I have started using bold print it is easier for me to read, lol. I know I need new glasses among the list of things to do.

Oh I hear you there! My neighbor told me wal mart has quite the eye glass center these day, I think I might stop in there and check it out

Stray! I already use those special glasses that make one look smart....you know the ones that hang down low on the nose...so that you can peek over the top of them with a discerning eye! :) I don't think it has made me any smarter though! No reply needed please! :) Have a good evening!

I understand you completely I at have the same problem sometimes I will for the sake of cooperating with everyone and not being a bug will always create paragraphs so that when I get to babbling I will still be understood, I am periodically long winded and my notes take on a look like letters to the editor... nono  

I understand what you are saying I apologize for the time it took me to read this but someone mentioned that I hadn't introduced myself so that was the last thing that I did last evening, just before I laid down and begun my shift staring at the ceiling, no I got no sleep again last eve LOL.

 

Hope all is well wioth you and that ypou are well rested. I am doing OK just a bit tired but still able to see LOL
