I have been so busy with keeping my smoking quit going (btw its been 2 months now and I feel so much better) and trying to do my exit work for my psychologist that things have been crazy around here.  Yes I did say that I was soing my exit stratagy for my psychologist so that I can finally be okay'd for the Spinal Cord Stimulator!!!!  I am a new woman thanks to my psychologist!  I am quite ready for this to happen as well LOL!  But, my friends......there is a few more gates to jump before this thing happens.  Unfortunetally it looks like I am off to court very soon!!! 

Yes...yours truly has to take Wyoming Worker's Compenstation to court just so she can get the treatment that her doctor has ordered for her.  Sucks but its something that I know I have to do to get this to happen anytime soon.  Probably another year before I will get anything for certain done, or at least I hope.

But I wanted to let you all know that I have not forgotten about each of you, I have just been in my own little world trying to get ready for a huge court battle.

Scarred kudos on the smoking. You really do sound well in your post and that is awesome. I sure hope your atty gives them a run for their money come court time. Keep up the good work.

Just a quick note to second the "kuddos" for stopping smoking... that's awesome that it has been two months - that's a great accomplishment, plus I'm glad that it's making you feel better. I really, really want my mom to quit smoking! I can't imagine how hard it is... but I just want her to quit so that I can have her around!! My dad quit 10 years ago...and has done great.

Anyway, I'm also glad to hear that things are going well w/ your psychologist.

I know what you mean about being in your "own little world". That's a good way to put it! Each day seems to bring a whole new set of challenges, huh? But I'm glad you updated us... and I'm really happy to hear your news, Scarred...

Congrats on quitting smoking, that is fabulous! Sorry to hear that you have to battle with worker's comp. I know what you're going through, since I'm fighting my insurance company for a stim as well. Unfortunately it's all about the money. Hopefully we'll both win our battles!

Two months - you go girl! And keep on going!

You do "sound" better than I think I ever remember you sounding. Remember how scared you were about going to the psychologist? And how well it's all turned out - at least that part.

It's lousy that you still may have to wait so long for the SCS trial, but at least you're feeling better, and that's wonderful news!

Wow, that quit smoking is very hard and I applaude you for it...
I've been thinking of you and sure hope your court case goes good for you. Keep us posted on the outcome, okay...

I've been wondering about our KS neighbor but I'm glad for your success story on the smoking...if you are going through all the WC stuff and living with the stress without the cigs!!! You go girl you ROCK!!

WC is such a drag to work, appeal and participate with. Keep all of your docs close at hand and make the atty's do the diggin for some of it that is why we have to pay them...

Hey everyone. Thanks for all the warm thoughts and grand applause! I know that WC is a pain, been dealing with them for the last 10 years (6 on the stim alone!). They seem to think that the SCS is a waste of time, that it does not work, But I have both a psychologist and my pain management doctor going to bat for me to try to get them to change their minds about this. If it goes as far as court....I am ready for it! I don't have an attorney as of yet because until I actually get a denial letter in the mail from WC saying that they will NOT pay for the SCS then no attorney will look at me for a case. Guess they figure better have documentation of an actual denial then go to court about it, I don't really know how that works.

Doc has already laid into WC once, when they wanted me to go to their own psychologist for the eval and wanted me to be completely off my medications before the trial even was possible. Ticked doc off I guess and he wrote a nasty letter to them stating some pretty hard facts that they couldn't rebuke LOL. I sure am hoping that it doesn't go that far, but if it does I want to make sure that they will still be paying my medications, etc. for my back even if it doesn't do as good as I expect it to.

I have, over the last year, completely changed my routine for the sake of this SCS trial. I am now stretching, excersizing and other things to show that I am quite ready for this to take place. My eating habits haven't changed too much but, I figure one addiction at a time huh? Cheesecake and brownies are my comfort foods when the day is just horrible and I can't seem to get the pain down. I think I have done well and so does my psychologist as he is ready to sign off on me and tell doc that he is comfortable to recommend me for the SCS trial! YAY!

   Scarred it is good to hear from you, and I too have quite smoking. It does make us feel better dosn't it!

Im so sorry that you have to go to court to get the treatment that you need. That is just terrible.
