Hi Klee!
I'm so sorry you are suffering through this misery. I hadn't heard of this disorder so I looked it up. For others who don't know what this is either, here's an explanation from the Mayo Clinic website.
"Adenomyosis (ad-uh-no-my-O-sis) is a condition in which endometrial tissue, which normally lines the uterus, is present within and grows into the muscular walls of the uterus. This is most likely to happen late in your childbearing years and after you've had children.
Adenomyosis isn't the same as endometriosis — a condition in which the uterine lining becomes implanted outside the uterus — although women with adenomyosis often also have endometriosis. The cause of adenomyosis remains unknown, but the disease typically disappears after menopause. For women who experience severe discomfort from adenomyosis, there are treatments that can help, but hysterectomy is the only cure. "
This does sound awful but the one thing I did notice reading about it is it's not life threatening. That might now seem very encouraging right now but it's something to hang on to some days.
Chronic pain wears us down physically as well as mentally. When we hurt and worry about our diagnosis we stress out. More stress = more pain and around the circle we go with the pain ramping up on each revolution. It's an awful cycle and hard to stop but maybe we can offer some suggestions. There are many relaxation techniques and without getting fancy you can help your body de-stress. Warm and luxurious baths often help relax the body as well as the mind. Light some candles, play some soothing music and lay back in the warmth and relax...and NO interruptions...lol For some of us warmth is essential. I have fibromyalgia and if my muscles get cold I'm in higher pain levels. So heating pads are my friends. ;-)
I've rambled on enough but I'm sure others will come by and offer their ideas for you. This is a great bunch of folks and I'm glad you have joined us.
