Hello,
I know that I've been missing for a couple of weeks. This running to all of these appts. three times a week to doctors or for PT is getting a little rough. Especially since each of these are 2 hrs. away from home. This last round the "Fibro guy" just about did me in! I was in bed for 2 whole days. He used this gizmo to do a deep tissue missage was the culprit. It felt wonderful while he was doing it but that night I got so stiff and sore that I could barely hold the toothbrush up to my mouth. The use this really neat laser thing that they just shoot at your trigger points with and then it creaps up on you the nect day. I had about a 30 min. session just with that thing this afternoon and I'm just waiting for it to kick in.
I had a visit with another pain doctor to discuss the spinal stimulator and things are a "go" with that . For some reason the insurance require everyone to get a psych clearence. I was able to get my visit next Wed. so hopefully that will go well and then I can get the stimulator trial placement scheduled. All of this hangs on how well my Mom is doing. I just got back from the ER with her. She is going to get admitted this time. My parents air conditioner went out yesterday afternoon. Being the stubborn people that they are , they refused to come to our house and stay to get out of the heat. The air repairman couldn't get there until around noon today. They had about 10 fans blowing in their home but if it's hot out it just blows hot air. My husband and I went out to get mom and just put her in her wheelchair and force her out of the house and come to stay with us. When we got there Mom's resp. were labored and she was scalding to touch. The axillary temp. read 105.5 so we turned up her 02, called the squad, and I wiped her down with cold wash cloths until we could get her to the ER. I just got home and her temp is now down to 99.0 degrees and she is able to speak. Her Parkinson's Disease is just eating her alive, poor thing. All seems to be O.K so far.
I read the thread on wearing a medical alert bracelet for the spinal stimulator. I think I will get one, I'm not sure just yet. Anyway, love to each of you. I don't know what I'd do without you.
