 It looks all good for a Monday go for my hip replacement .At this time I'd like to thank my HW family for the tremendous support they've given me , I couldn't have come this far without you .I love you all very much and I may be absent for a few days at least , but I'll be back .I wish everyone lpd's in abundance and I'll see you soon !!!! Wonderful Mikel!! yeah You know I'll be thinking of you and praying that all goes well. Hang in there buddy, things are looking up for you. Make sure they give you good pain relief for your post op period!!!

It is finally here! I am praying that everything goes absolutely perfect! Sending you lots of love and huge hugs my dear friend! I hope you have someone there to help you after surgery..I think I already asked this, but I don't remember if I got an answer! Good ole fibro brain fog! Let us know....as soon as you can...that all is well! Doesn't have to be a long post... just get on and say "I'm okay"! We will all be waiting! Anyway....take care of you and YAY!!!

Woo hoo Mikel!! I am so excited for you. It's not everyday that we get a new lease on life. This should change your life for the better in so many ways. I can't wait to hear from you after the sugery. You are in my thoughts and prayers and take it easy so that you heal up good. We will hear from you when you are ready. Love ya bunches!

Thanks Suzane , thanks Beckey , yes my ex-girlfriend has volounteered to accompany in the morning to the hospital and wait until the operation is finished and stay with me .She's been great , we used to live together a few years ago and she's always had a great heart , I'm lucky we met up again . She came with me to the pre-op too and we went to the movie and to eat after , we are just friends but both single so who knows , I'm happy to have her with me thru this , she's still got love for me and vici versa so I'd do it for her too . I am so happy for you!! You deserve this..to have this finally taken care of for you. Tell them they better be good to you, from me!! I will miss your wonderfull spirit being here but know it is for the best. How wonderful your ex girlfriend is offering you such support. Its so much better when you know someone is there for you after surgery.

Hi Mikel!!

Been thinking about you.... and so glad to hear that Monday is THE day :) I'll e-mail you, too, but just wanted to tell you that you'll be in my thoughts and prayers.... for a safe surgery, a quick recovery - and less pain in the near future here. Oh, I'm glad, too that you'll have a good friend there caring for you while you are in the hospital and recovering.

Hi Mikel....

We'll it's finally almost here. Remember back when you first started HW and were so sick and depressed about everything? You're transformation has been like a butterfly from a cacoon. You have opened your wings to fly now by your own efforts. You just wouldn't let yourself down....finding a good Surgeon and then getting those T-Cells to work like they should (although I'm sure you were sick of after a while). But it worked!!!!! and now you are here waiting for the surgery that could change your life forever.

All along the way you provided support and encouragement to others and we all appreciate you for it.

Best of luck on your surgery and the beginning of your new life!

Mikel,

I will be praying for you on Monday as you undergo your hip replacement. It must seem a bit surreal to have it finally happening after all this time.

I wish you a quick and uncomplicated surgery and hospital stay, and as pain free a recovery as possible. I hope that you are able to quickly progress in terms of recovery, movement, physio, etc. Just make sure you listen to all of your medical team and do only what they tell you. It doesn't make any difference how "ready" you feel to do anything for the first few days - pass it over to others and just rest and take care of yourself.

Will you have someone there with you while you recuperate? Will people be dropping by? If you're on your own, you might want to consider using a "do not disturb" sign for your front door (if applicable), so people don't ring the bell when you're sleeping (or a note that indicates you're on crutches so for people to have patience waiting for the door to be answered

Anyways, these are all just random thoughts jumping around in my brain. My main message is good luck, know that I'm praying for you for a successful surgery and a quick and uncomplicated recovery.

  WOW ! Its no wonder folks are transformed here , this family is just amazing , I am truly touched deeply with tears in my eyes and love in my heart . I wish you well with your hip replacement!   Pleasee make sure you follow your Doctors orders to the "T" after your surgery, you will probably have a few restrictions for a while  and they are extremely important to adhere to. They can literally make the difference between success and failure of this procedure. Anyway I do wish you well and hope that your hip replacement is a total success!

Best of luck to you Mikel on your surgery. I know that we don't "know" one another but I have been reading your posts , even with my absence from posting. I hope that things turn out okay and you get the much needed pain relief from this hip replacement. Post when you can or ask your ex girlfriend if she is willing to let us know how surgery went.
Take care, rest as much as you can and work hard in physical therapy.

Just a quick question what caused your hip to go bad? Do you know? I just had and MRI and a Arthrogram done on my right hip two weeks ago, and they tell me I have arthritis really bad in it. The Arthrogram report says I have several small condral defects and a degenterative subcondral cyst with adjacent bone marrow edema, and there is a contour abnormality at the lateral right femoral head and neck junction with an abnormal bump in this area, and the findings are suspicious for "anterior femoral acetabular impingement of the cam type". Anyway the doc said that once the arthritis starts with this condition that the hip joint gets rapidly destroyed, and I could be looking at a total hip replacement in my near future. I had a intraarticular steroid injection into my right hip this past Tuesday to try and help relieve the pain, I haven't noticed that much relief as of yet! Driving the car and sitting and laying on my side is the worst! The hip just kills me doing these things! I want to go up and see my daughter, but she lives 465 miles away and right now I just can not make the trip! Some days just driving to my Doctor 40 mile away is bad enough! It is like having a bad tooth ache in the inside of my hip!! Any light you can shed on your experience I would much appreciate hearing. Good Luck on that surgery!

   Hey Sandi , its great to meet you , thanks so much for caring to wish me well , I read your profile and your dealing with a lot , I really hope theres some relief for you soon . I encourage you to become part of the family here , these are wonderful people and you'd be so welcome to join us . Support can make all the difference in the world there is always someone here who can relate directly to what your expierencing and everyone will care , thanks again ! White beard , I'm sorry I don't beleive I can shed any light on that , with me its either genetic or a result of long term drug use or a combination of both , also the HIV meds I take (I've been taking them 15 years) can cut off blood supply to bones as a side effect . My brother had double hip replacement 3 years ago and he never used drugs , was healthy all his life , but he's fine now , he's 6 years older than me .Also I've been on and off methedone programs for a long time , this has the reputation of being bad for your bones , but I have no definitive diagnosis , it hurt one day and I went for x-rays and the hip bone looked terrible , they didn't really ask why it happened too much they just knew I needed it and I didn't care why I just wanted and want releif . I wish I could offer more info , I suggest you monitor it carefully though my friend . I hoped that helped in some way . Susie its great to hear from you !! Mikel!!! Finally, I know you are so happy and I am so incredibly happy this is finally happening! You deserve this so much and I pray that the recovery will be a quick one and that after all is said and done, you will be able to live in less pain! I have always admired your positive attitude and please know I will be praying for ya everyday :)! Once you are able, please update us on how you are doing!!!!!
