One down..one to go..oh what to do

So the new Rhuemy app. was on Friday(no news yet), tommorrow I go to the new primary care Dr. This is the one I have been waiting for since May and is suppossed to be really good, but essentric. I don't know if i should tell her about already going to the new Rhuemy. When I originally called for an app. it was for my joints but now I've seen the other dr. and think he might be really good and trying to take care of it. I still am having serious pain in my back from the herniated disc so i am thinking of just directing it that way. Should I do that or go into all of it and then tell her I need an mri for my back to see whats going on. Thanks for any info. Heather

You made sense, never doubt that...Make a list of all the things you know and the doctor's that have those under control
and it's always good to have a pcp informed of things just in case. Sometimes a pcp can pick up on things and might know of
other specialist that are good in case you get a bad doctor...I always keep my pcp in the loop and he helped me good when I got
ill with pneumonia this past year...I say yes go....

Good luck with this! I would make a list of everybody I see now, what their speciality is, what they have prescribed, and what I needed to discuss with a PCP. You will likely need this person more than you realize and you want to keep them in the loop as much as possible. Surely any good PCP understands that specialists are there for a reason and will respect that you have seen a specialist for a particular reason.

Heather, I know about being worried when going to the doctor, but I think it would be better to give the doctor all the information. Might be very important for the doctor to really understand.

Thanks for asking about the app. I was going to post on Wednesday but have had to work overtime everyday since. It's been so hectic and I don't have enough staff but that's a whole other story.

I WORE UNDERWEAR this time,yeeeaah me!! So the new pr. dr. looked at the lab report from my old Rhuemy. Their office barely sent anything over. Well she told me that my old Rhuemy hadn't ran ana, sed rate, RA factor or any of that, like he said he did. Just the crp levels which were elevated. She said before i even mentioned it that if i just had Fibro. that it wouldn't be possible for that to be elevated because it's an indicator for inflammation or heart issues. Well i had an echo-cardiogram earlier this year(guess because I'm over-weight he figured it had to be my heart, which came out fine.) Oh and he ran Cholest.,blood sugar, thyroid, and protein. So she asked me what has he done to address your low absorption of protein, your non-working thyroid, and the elevated crp. I said nothing. I wasn't even aware of the first two. She said that's why I've had such a horrible time losing weight. She looked at my spine and checked it(so had my old Rhuemy). Asked me what he did for my obvious S shaped spine, with the protrusions she could see. Again I said he has done nothing, didn't even tell me about it. Well she ordered new labs, x-ray and mri of my back, mri of my thyroid. Gave me vicodin with refills..oh my goodness that floored me..muscle relaxers that I can take while working so I don't pass out. She is checking my b12 levels and hormone levels. She is a little odd, not in a bad way though..ecentric. I kid you not I was in her office for nearly 1 1/2 hours. She asked everything under the sun. Wanted to even see a picture of my albino sister.

My new Rhuemy called and said x-rays of my hands were fine and blood test came back somewhat normal but he wants to discuss that in 2 1/2 weeks when I go back. He wants to see how the NSAID is working for me then. So all in all it has been a very successfull week as far as dr.'s go. Anyone who needs a couple of good suggestions for Dr.'s in Indiana e-mail me and I will get you the info. Sorry so long. Heather
