I always mean to log on more frequently, but life has been so hectic lately that days slip by before I get a chance to return. I really need to make it a priority to check back in more frequently. You all have been such a great help to me, and I want to be here for all of you as well.
I believe my last update to you said that the result of the MRI was that they found a third herniated disc in my lumbar spine. I was referred to a neurosurgeon, and was waiting for him to review my records and for him to decide whether to take my case. For some reason I was shifted over to a scoliosis specialist in the orthopedics department instead. I'm still going to go because it's still just a consultation at this point, and I need to know what all my options are.
I've been in a lot of pain this week, both in my back, and now in my neck too. My physiatrist said to just keep taking ibuprofen and ice it frequently (my neck) and see if it gets better on its own before they try anything else. The neck pain is a new problem -- for approximately the past three weeks. It actually felt a bit better today, so I hope that trend continues. My husband thinks my neck pain is being caused by the fact that I'm looking down for hours on end while making jewelry lately. I guess it's possible, but I'm not sure. I've finally found a hobby that I truly love and actually helps keep my mind off my pain, and I would hate to lose that.
I'll try to check in a bit later during the chat, which I believe is at 9 pm, right? There's an Etsy chat I wanted to participate in tonight as well, which is also at 9 pm, so this could get interesting. I've never participated in one on Etsy, so I'm not sure what to expect there. I am the queen of multitasking, though.
I hope you are all doing relatively well. I will catch up on reading the forums as soon as possible. I wish I could just have new forum posts sent to my RSS reader or email, though. That's why I always liked email groups. It's easier for me to keep up and keep track of what I've read and what I haven't read. I'm just quirky like that.
