I was asked to post when our newest granddaughter arrived ... and she's Here! It's been a very long haul since 'mommy' went into preterm labor nearly 2 months ago. Baby is about
6 weeks early but weighed in at 4# 6oz and 17-1/4 " long. She had steroids about
3 weeks ago to build her lungs and it made a huge difference! The nurses in the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) were amazed at how well developed she is for being so early. No oxygen, no incubator, just a warming light and a few precautionary medications. So far all of her blood work is fine.
We are so grateful and thankful for everyone's prayers and good wishes. That is why she is so healthy. Prognosis for coming home ...at the earliest one week and maybe two as long as she keeps progressing as she is.
We will have pictures online by tomorrow morning and I'll post a link for those interested.
Warm hugs!
