In the past week, I have been forced to switch from generic oxycontin, to namebrand, not only at a much greater cost, but at a loss of effectveness, and pain control. I actually experienced withdrawal type symptoms, by waiting for the time to take the next pill. IN addition, because of the size and the coating, I have a terrible time holding onto a tablet due to my fingers not having much feeling due to spur in my neck. Just wondered if anyone here has had the same experience with the oxy. I talked to the pharmacist when I filled my script
tonight, and she said many patients have said the same thing, but there is no reason for it. Maybe it like the fentanyl patch, some people need to switch every 23-48 hours instread of 72 hours. B UT the insurance companies do not want to pay for a sufficient quantity.

To me, like any other drug, it will help some and give them relief from pain, and that is worth more than I can say .
