Hi all!oo
I have been around, although I have not posted as much as I normally do. I have been going to pulmonary rehab in town ( which is 40 miles away) three times a week. Mon, Wed, Fri. with the price of gas it is getting expensive! Anyway I have to go for a minimum of 24 sessions and a max of 36 sessions. I guess it is one way to take up my time, as each session is an hour to an hour and a half long. On weds, we also have an extra half hour of class room. Mainly whe we first arrive we have to fill out a form with our names and pain rating and if we have exercised since the last session and what we did and for how long. Then we have to put on our assigned heart monitor, it is a three lead monitor that they use to monitor your heart during the exercise period, on mondays you have to also weigh in, after you get your heart monitor put on they take your O2 sat and BP. then we all do initial stretching, and warm up exercises, ( they quickly found out that mine had to be modified because they set of the laryngeal spasms in my neck and I had a really bad gagging episode) I can not do the arm stretchs and movements that they all do. Anyway after the warm up they have us rate the difficulity and they take our O2 sat and BP and then we go to our assigned machines that they have set up for us. I use the reclining exercise bicycle with the arm things, for 15 minutes, and half way through they ask you to rate the difficulity and they take your O2 sat and BP. after that I have ten min, on the hand crank, and again you are asked to rate it and they check your O2 sat and BP and after that I do the treead mill. and again they take your vitals and you have to rate it. After you are done, then you again have to do some stretching exercises and cool down and they take your stats one last time and then you can take your monitor off. During all the exercise period they are monitoring your heart. Actually this rehab is for people with lung and breathing disorders and people with heart problems. But they seem to think my breathing problems might be neurological in cause, but the doctor wants me to go through it to build up my stamina. I hope if nothing else I can lose some pounds that I have gained over this past winter! They all enjoy the treats that I make and bring in (today it was brownies with Black walnuts in them) the charge nurse of the program had a birthday! Sooooo I just had to make something!
Yesterday the realtor did an open house, the first one of the season. The ex and I went with a new realtor and now my house is listed nation wide with pictures and an walk through movie, I have high hopes that the house will finally sell. I desparately want to get out of here and I have been seriously looking at the southern Georgia or norhtern Florida area. But near an Air Force Base but who know where I will end up!
I am rather unhappy ( to put it mildly with the orthopedic surgeon I had seen) he told me he thought I needed a total hip replacement, but he wanted me to get a second opinion. And that his office would set up an appointement with this hip specialist in Indy. Well I have contacted his office and his nurse three times since then and all three times I was told they would get back with me and they never did. I had seen him the first of March! I see my pain management doctor next week, he is the one who referred me to this surgeon, I will let him take care of it, I will not call him again nor do I want him doing any surgery on me!
Well that is all the news I have, Tina I thought I wrote you back? I will have to check on that. If I didn't I will get an E-mail off to you, I do try and keep up on that!
Anyway Chart thanks for your concern, You are always on top of everything, and I really appreciate you checking in on all of us the way you do! Anyway I do wish you all well and I will try an do better on the posting.
