My Update--Lindaloo

A couple of people have asked me to post an update on what's been going on with me, so that's what this is.

I have been having a good amount of discomfort from the fibromyalgia and back pain lately.  I have been trying new medications, but the problem is, I don't respond well to most medicines.  It seems I have tried them all, well, not all, but quite a few of the pain meds, especially the long acting ones.  They give me headaches and I have a general feeling of malaise when I take them, so I end up going back to what I have been on for years, the Percocet 10/650.  The only thing is , it doesn't always work on the pain.

So to make a long story short, I went to the pain dr office this week and met with yet another ARNP who didn't know me from Adam, but who took the time to listen to my history.  To his credit, he went and relayed our conversation to the dr and she came up with changing to Oxycodone 15 mg every six hours.  I felt kinda of sheepish, as i didn't realize that oxycodone (without the tylenol) came in a higher dose.  I am a retired RN so I should have known I think, but oh well.  Anyway I took it today for the first time and the first response is excellent.  The pain is relieved and I don't have untoward side effects.  Plus, I don't have as much acetominiphen in my system to plague my liver!  I think this will be a win-win situation.

As for the cancer (endometrial and cervical), I am doing well.  I finished all my treatments and am getting my energy back and my hair, though short, is growing back in.  I even got it dyed a dark blonde from the gray just a few weeks ago.  I am feeling good, so don't worry.  I will follow up with my doctors and let you know how it all goes.  Thanks for your ongoing interest this past year.  It has been a year now too.

TMJ, aka Suzane, is coming to visit me in a few days for a vacation and she will stay with me here in Ocala, Florida.  I am so excited about this.  We are like two peas in a pod and I am looking forward to having my good friend here with me.  This will be so much fun, I just know it.  I don't think I will let her go home.  LOL.

My granddaughter, Kelly,  is turning 7 this next week and her party is Sunday.  Many of you have heard me speak of her and her sister Anna (age 2), over the years.  They remain my heart and I live for them.  (Very co dependent I know, but still.......)  They are both beautiful and healthy, praise God.

So my dear friends, that is my update for now.  I will continue to post and plan to keep in the loop.  Thanks for missing me.  I have missed you too.  I love you all.

Linda what a great post from you and so uplifting. I can see you sort of smile as you were typing. I know myself and a lot of others here at the forum are always interested in your updates.

Isn't it amazing how you feel when you actually have some pain relief and not have some lousy side effects mess it up. I do not tolerate medications of any kind well at all, so I understand fully what you are saying. I once became toxic on a blood pressure medication and another medication and did some time in the hospital sick as a dog. My dr at that time was an awesome dr and he told me if it was going to happen to anyone it had to be me, lol. He laughed and said normal people do not have those sort of things happen to them, I said I have been telling you from day one I am not your normal patient, lol.

I totally understand the grandchildren thing. We only have one and there will be no more. This does sadden me somewhat because my little guy will be 6 this month and I do not want him growing up so fast. I want him to stay little longer, lol. We do have a wonderful time together and when he is with me the world and everything in it is totally tuned out. He is the best medicine I could ever ask for.

I hope that you and Suzane have a great visit, just remember to slow down and rest when you need to. Keep us posted.

I am so glad to see your post, I read it right after you had posted but did not write then, I have thought of you allot of times and wondered how you were doing and how your treatment came out! I know that time is the determining factor on this, and that will be the test of success! With God's grace and your treatments everything will be fine for you! I pray that it will be so anyway! Take care of your self and enjoy your friends, family, and especially your grandkids! I continue to keep you in my prayers! And know that we are all here for you!

Linda you already know how thrilled i am that you are feeling much better. You have been thru some tough battles but with your strength and courage you came out with flying colours.
I can't wait to be with you and spend some quiet days talking and sipping on lemonade.

It's so good to read good news from you! I am glad that you are feeling a lot better overall and that you are finally getting some decent pain relief......this is good news.

The fibro, hopefully will ease some in the coming days and weeks, now that the rest of the problems are coming down too.........

I hope that you have a great time at your grand daughter's party.....even if it's co dependant, there is nothing wrong with that , when it comes to your grandkids!
