Got a doctor appointment on Friday with my Rheumy, my fingers on my
right hand are swelling on and off and he was thinking of starting methotrexate (MTX)
but I'm against doing that for now, as I just don't want anymore medication side effects
what I wanna talk about is maybe a steroid injection instead to see how that
may or may not effect me, I had a real hard time on the low dose prednisone pill
had major consipation from that, I can't try any of the dmard meds for RA as if
you get sick on those you can die, not a good thing...so don't know if they
really ccan treat the RA.

I might not be here tomorrow as I have PT and a psychologists appointment and
some errands should I be up to them...
So, I'll be busy the next few days...Back pain has been up, balance is off and worried about my daughter goiter...
Screaming sure wish you could come down here to do a nice snap shot for the newspaper for
my 25th anniversary, but I got a photographer called out, hope it won't be to bad on the wallet
need to get it taken soon for the July date....
Thinking of everyone, I'll be back soon...just needed to vent...I'm tired now...

Try and get some rest the best you can...take it easy tomorrow and update when you can :)

Hi Chart

I'm sorry to hear that your hand and fingers are swelling up. I sure hope your doctor can do the injection to help with the swelling. I also hope that your back and so forth get better also. I will be thinking about you Friday and praying that everything gets better for you.

I pray that your daughter's goiter can be taken care of also.

You take care and try to get some rest. We'll be here when you get back. Love ya my friend.

Hope I am not stepping over boundaries by calling you Chart, I saw others call you that, and I realize you have known cp members way before I started, so please let me know if calling you Chart offends you.  My name is Kathy, I have been called kat by my off and on gentleman friend.  He would laugh if he knew I called him a gentleman. 

Ok enough of that, I am so sorry to hear you are not feeling well, and your fingers are swollen.  That is awful.  I dont know alot about RA, but what I do know is it is not fun at all.  I sometimes either looking at a commercial for one prescription medication and another, after they tell you how wonderful the medication is, comes a list about a page and 1/2 of side effects.

It is very scary, I mean if they dont know, how are we supposed to know.  Anyway just wanted to pop in and let you know you are in my prayers and good thoughts, sending tender hugs to you I hope you feel better soon.

    Chart, I rarely pick up a camera anymore......ever since I have been in survival mode here, but my wife would be more than happy to snap a portrait of you, if you lived closer.

     I, myself fell hard at work yesterday...and today has been a bear so far. All, 210lbs of me went flying through the air, after a forklift hit an air line I was standing on. This too, shall pass!

          Good luck to you, on your appointments tomorrow, and you know full well, you are to report back! wink

       Now be good, and stay out of trouble...with the Dr's! wink ....did I understand you correctly, that you are going to change PM's again? What prompted that?

Hello,
PT when so so they tried something new, using a bandaid and tape up along both
sides of the spine, did tell them I had a bandaid allergy...got home everything was okay then
the Bandaid on my back started to hurt, got unbearable, so hubby did his best to remove
it slowly, then all heck broke loose with itching and red bumps, not pink but bright red
all along where the bandaid was, so doctor (rheumy) yep really bad contact dermatitis
and got the steroid injection in my backside(butt) and he said I might need another one, also
been taking benadryl which helps with the itching and will start Methotrexate soon...

dang nab allergy...itching is horrible still today on Sunday....
Hope y'all are doing better, SE sorry about your fall, hope your feeling better soon if not try to get into your
doctor...

Hi Chart, I am really interested in this tape up the spine thing they did in PT. What was the purpose of that and what is it suppose to do? Please let me know about this. Thanks.

I think the tape or bandaid is supposed to help with posture thereby helping reduce
back pain...but my reaction was bad...still have some small raised bumps but it's getting better...can only tolerate
being on the computer for short peroids...will see what they'll do in PT tomorrow, I hope the take it easy on me...

         ....interesting!....I was thinking maybe it binds the muscle groups together, and works them all at the same time when you move them. Let us know how it turns out, and please ask them why it was tried if you can remember to do so.
