Hand swells, itches and then next day is left with purple blotches, could it be lyrica effects?

For a while now one of my hands will swell in places and itch terribly.  Then, the next day, it will be left with purple splotches.  It looks terrible.  I have to take benedryl a couple times during the first day of the itching and swelling.  Has anyone else had these effects?  I thought it might be the effects of the lyrica I take, but I don't know for sure. 

My doctor has never really seen it.  The next time it occurs, I will try to get an appointment that same day, but you know how that goes.  It usually takes a couple days to get in to see him and the effects are gone by then.

I am at witt's end with this.  Looking forward to comments from my friends here.

Hi Lindaloo, I really know what you mean about symtoms leaving before you get to the doctors office.  I have had that happen more than a couple times.  Then I minute you get back home, the symtoms are right back.  Its very frustrating.

I think the taking a photograph is a great idea.  In the mean time how long have you been taking lyrica?  If it has not been long, you could be absolutley right.  I am not sure, maybe symtoms can occur after taking medication for a while.
