Exalgo, nycynta and Opana

I was 1st on the fentatynal patch then switched by doctor to Exalgo and nycynta, The Exalgo didn't seem to be doing anything for me. My pm doctor pretty much was pushing exalgo on me and I have several problems with the medication. First I can't find the medication at ANY pharmacy. Does anyone know why? Most said they can't even order it! What's your experience with Exalgo? The other problem is it's just one more medication that I have a 75.00 copy for. I've also read several posts etc about the mediication being really harmful and not working that well. Anyone want to share what you know about this medication? OH also the Nycynta is hard to find at most pharmacies, why wont they carry it? The new PM doctor put me on Opana instead of Exalgo. I was fine wtih that since I hate the Exalgo. Thanks for any info you can give me :)

Hi Hopeless,

I have taken Jurnista, which I think must be our equivalent to Exalgo, and it was useless for me. My PM changed put me on it as a change from my Oxycontin, in the hope that I would have fewer side effects...I get quite nauseous and very wiped out on the Oxy. But I had almost zero pain relief from it - I was on the point of asking him to bring me back into hospital to stabilize my pain - what little relief I had lasted only about 8 hours instead of 24, and I had severe visual disturbances...not fun when my vision without glasses is already as about 20/80

I'm now back on my Oxy and dealing with the side effects, but do at least usually have enough control of my pain to function.
