middle back pain

I have pain in both sides of my back about half way up. It feels muscular but I don't know what could have caused it. It comes and goes and I notice it most when I'm sitting in lounge, dining, or car and also when standing and doing dishes, haha. It started about 2 months ago and has been becoming more severe. A visiting doctor thought it was caused by driving a bus once a fortnight, but I don't think so. I seriously considering a trip back to the doctors and an ultrasound. Any ideas anyone?

Hi Chop Styx and welcome to Healing Well's chronic pain forum. Sorry to hear that you are being bothered with this pain for as long as you have. I think if I were you, I would go see my primary care physician and have this checked out. Pain that has been around for two months is sure worthy of a trip to the dr to be checked out. Who knows, it may be something very easy to take care of, but you will not know this until you see a dr.

Please understand that none of us are drs here at the forum and we only speak from our own personal experiences. You would be amazed at how easy it is to cause actual damage to the spine with little impact or force. People have blown discs in their backs by putting a gallon of milk in the refrigerator or putting clothes in a clothes dryer. My point is, it really can be something minor that can cause a whole lot of problems, so do yourself a favor and go see your dr.

Anyway, I wanted to pop on and tell you welcome aboard and please let us know what the dr has to say. Take care.

Hi Chop Styx, and welcome to HW.

I'd echo what Stray says about needing to see your GP. Two months sounds like too long for a straightforward muscular problem, and it's much better to be safe than sorry where spinal problems are concerned.

I got here a little late, but also wanted to Welcome you to the forum!

I'm guessing since you are using the term Fortnight, you are in England? I have family there, and they use that word. (meaning about 2 weeks)

I have to agree with the rest of the members here, and suggest you see your Primary Care Doctor.
