Having Home PT and OT next week

I went to my pain dr two weeks ago and had a heart to heart.  Told her I cannot function outside my home without a wheelchair and that I literally am confined to my home most of the time.  I have a hard time walking, not to mention the pain that I am always in and it has gotten worse.  I told her there was no way I could make it to PT outside of the home as I do not drive and my husband can move no better than I can.  So she ordered home physical and occupational therapy for me.  I had the evaluations last week.

I am going to have them come out a combination of four times a week to start.  They will work with me with excercises to build my core and help with my endurance.  I am not looking forward to the pain, but I hope I get some positive results.

I you could, keep a positive thought for me, as I need all the help I can get.  I wouldn't mind a prayer or two either.

Hey Linda, I think that is awesome that your dr was able to arrange home PT. A lot of people think PT doesn't help but if you have a good physical therapist, yes it can be very helpful. I have done a lot of PT over the years and probably only had maybe two therapists that were not all that great.

The very worst was when I fell and broke my arm two years ago. I did not have the same therapist every time I went and spent most of my time explaining what I had done with the other one and I did end up getting fed up and quit going. Instead I did my own PT at home with all of the instruction sheets they gave me plus what the orthopedic gave me. I think its important that we get the same therapist every time we go because they know what we are doing and everyone is one the same page.

Yeah, my daughter knows this therapist that is going to work with me. It's why I chose the home care that I did. I will probably finally get to meet her tomorrow.
