I just left my neurologist appointment and he wants to do an MRI on my brain as he feels there is something going on due to my weakness, and lack of response by stimuli on my right side. He mentioned tumors, lesions, MS, parkinsons as possibilities, VERY ANXIOUS right now and need somebody to cheer me up!

Hi Dude...welcome to HWF. So sorry to hear about what transpired at your doctors appointment. Doctors tend to let their patients know what might be the cause of your weakness.

Worring doesnt change a thing it just heightens your anxiety level beyond belief. Go thru the MRI and ask to have the results ASAP. How old are you Dude...may I ask that question?

Please let us know when you are going for your MRI and then post after you have the result. We are here for you.

I will pray for you and put you on the prayer chain at our church to give you the strenght that you need to go thru your testing and have a calmness come over you when you get the result of the MRI. You wont be alone.

Hi BadHeartDude. I'm sorry that you had a scary appointment. Try to relax because your anxiety will go thru the roof. When is your MRI? I'll also be praying for you to have the strength to go thru the MRI and hear the news that it has for you.

betsey, Im 37 with an extensive medical history in the last 2 1/2 years, I know worrying about it won't help but with my history its hard not too! The MRI is scheduled for thurs. so I know I won't get the results till next week sometime, it will be a long weekend of anticipation....Thank you all for your prayers, every little bit helps!

Sorry you got some unexpected news today. My thoughts and prayers are with you for the week as you go thru the

MRI and get the news. I know it must be tough. Try to hang in there. Maybe a good movie to rent, or something on tv,

a book or magazine to take your mind off of things.

Badheartdude....The NFL season finally started...Patriots vs the Dolphins tonight and then Saturday with college football and sunday back to professional football. What is your favorite nfl team? I like the Patriots. What team is your pick for college? I like Penn State.

Im just trying to help you. Do you like to fish? I like to look at all the colorful lures in the tackle dept of stores. My father-in-law had a fishing lure box that was huge...Big as a craftsman 4 ft tall tool chest and it kept spreading out into the room when he wanted to take inventory. lol...unbelivable but true.

Try not to worry to much about what the doctor said, I think sometimes doctor's don't
think before they speak and that can be scary. I will send you Prayers and well wishes.

For me when I'm in the MRI machine it makes me think of the ancient Indian drums,
that probably sounds funny, but hey it is a bunch of loud bangs, why not Indian Drums...

Make sure to ask for a copy of the mri results, I keep all my mri results here at home,
should they get lost or misplaced or in the event of a move to another town...

Many well wishes and keep us posted on how your doing...

Try to look at the positive. At least the doctor is considering things and wants to check them out and if something does turn up then maybe you can get some treatment that will help.

bad heartdude,I agree with Charteux,drs can tend to say dumb stuff at times! In till the MRI,you will not have all the facts to figuer out whats going on for sure,So till then make the best of things .I hope its not has bad as the DR. thinks it might be!The guy Ilive with had a double bypass this jan and is doing great now !Its amazing how far the medical stuff involving heart problems has come in the past few years.I also find alot of times its hard to understand drs,so its best to ask them,to questions before you leave ,so you don't have to worry yourself.I know medical stuff is so hard to deal with at times ,lucky you have lots of people here that can help make it a little better due to there own experinces.I'm sending a special smile your way .Take care from michele

Welcome to the board....

I am 38 and have been ill for about 8 years now. When I was in the first couple years of my health issues/pain issues - I had every test known to man. Bone marrow testing, liver biopsy, CT/MRI of every body part :) I know it's stressful w/ testing.

Over the years, I've learned that many doctors don't say anything, and some like to give all the possibilities. I've also seen quite a few neurologists - and they tend to be more conservative in that manner, too.

On my brain MRIs, something did show up; I do have a pineal cyst. Some say it's a benign thing... but mine has grown some over the years - so I have to get a yearly brain MRI to check on it. I've also talked to some that have this - and share some similar symptoms that I do - so who knows?

Anyway, try not to worry.... but good luck on Thursday and hoping it will all be positive news. Keep us updated...
