Thank goodness surgery is soon and the great advice from you people sure helps .I'm setting up a home care nurse for when Iget home.Itryed to go shopping at the mall and it was hellish,Iendedup with a headache and not buying much,so online shopping is the way to go.The idea of being mentally and physicaly ready for surgery ,is a must do !my presurgery appointment ,I was told its painful getting the rib removed ,at least it will heal and there is hope ,so I'm okay with that !I have been sleeping so much latley?Iwas also told that ,Ireally don't take much pain meds ,so it will be easy to ween of !I guess Iwill still be on them for 2months or so?It will be a big adjustment to be able to drive myself and clean my house ,work out again and go back to work ,its funny I only gained a few pounds,but all my muscle is gone ,so I will start working out again as soon as I heal.Isure am greatful for this site ,there are some awsome people here .thanks again take care from michele

Yes!...it won't be long now....11 more days? I believe you said the surgery was on the 26th? You are very correct about the awesome support from members here, and I believe they are sincere about it as well. Each one of us suffers on a daily bases, and that is the bond we all have together. Our conditions may differ, and to tell you the truth, I think you are the first case of TOS I have come across here on the forum.

We are excited for you, and hopeful that all will go well.

Take care, and keep that positive attitude going that you have. I'm impressed!

Hi Michele,

It sounds like you are doing everything you can to prepare for you surgery...not long now.

As SE said, keep that attitude up, stay strong and remember that we're all here for you :)

Hi Michele,

I'm w/ everyone - I think you've done a good job preparing yourself for the surgery.... and I hope the next bit of time passes quickly for you; that your surgery goes well; and that you have a very good recovery. I think your positive attitude will help you tremendously while recovering... especially thinking about all those things you have to look forward to.

I also hope you will have as minimal pain as possible during your surgery, post-op, etc.

Hang in there and please keep us updated w/ everything. We DO care and we are here for you....

Michele I just wanted to pop and say I hope that your surgery goes well and gives you the relief you are needing. I have a very good friend that had this surgery and the recovery was fairly long for her. As with any surgery, following the post op directions given by the dr is so important, no matter how good you may feel one day. Over doing after surgery is one of the biggest culprits for set backs.

You are so right about being physically and mentally ready for surgery is a must. Having your head on straight about it is very important.

For now, I would not worry about how long you may need to be on pain meds while recuperating or anything else, except feeling better.
