Update on the insurance issues, took a fall, and caught a bug

I finally worked out the insurance issues, and am covered again. It was a pain, but well worth the fight.

On Saturday morning, I fell in the shower. I messed up my shoulders, bruised my right hip and tailbone I think. When I was a teenager, I fell off the back of my father's motorcycle onto blacktop paved road. Even that did not hurt this bad. Silly me then spent all day Saturday walking around a very large mall an hour from our home in order to give my two boys the huge mall at Christmas experience, and to meet a man about some tickets for my hubby's pal's band. That was not wise of me, but I couldn't back out for my kids.

I can't get into my pain management doctor or PCP until after Christmas. Plus I need to find a new gastroenterologist because of new GI issues. Having trouble eating on top of everything else.

Still, some happiness has come. We got a whole bunch of camping gear to help so that I am not working as hard or as uncomfortable when we go camping, and Christmas is almost here! My sons will begin in their online public school from home just before winter break begins, and things look up even when it's not going as well as I wanted.

Sure hope your feeling much better by Christmas...but maybe you should
call your PM Doctor and explain the fall...Many Many Prayers and well wishes
and do keep us posted, care and very concerned about you....
You got me worried.....Hope you can take things easy for now, or
at least try....

Hi Mindy I'm so sorry that you fell. I hope you feel better by Christmas as well. That makes three of us that have taken a fall in the last week. I wonder if it's something in the water, so to speak. I certainly hope nobody else falls.

Try to take it easy and be careful. Take care.

            However, you did get a win on the insurance...and were all relieved to hear it! yeah

      As I read your post...it made me think of the most prone places in the home for an accident, and the tub/shower has to be one of the biggest! Also!...stairs would seem a close second as well! shocked

   Mindy...I started a new thread that has to do with Accident prone places around the house....the members can read it there. I did not want to steal your thread here...so I moved much of what I said to the new thread.

      Hope you get to feeling better soon!

Thank you all for the posts!

Jim, I laughed so hard I woke my husband! Thank you for the humor!

I am less sore today, and we are looking into getting a fold down shower seat and bars installed in the bathtub, or just replacing it with a shower stall that is set up for me. My PM doctor will fit me Monday the 26th if I don't have drastic improvement, and called in a prescription for a muscle relaxer to help for now. They make me loopy.

We have had a lot of falls, so its in the water and we may be faced with an epidemic! But really I am worried about what walking and getting out this winter will be like if I have that much trouble in the shower.

Thank you Laura and Chartreux, I am feeling better. Michael, you make me shake my head and giggle. I will check out your other post, although you could have hijacked mine, I don't mind.

Prayers for all of you for low pain days and good Christmas ahead.
