Right side pain

I have had a pain on my right side below the ribs for 4 years. Sometimes not bad, sometime worse. If I move by body quickly to turn it feels like a knife poked my. I can push on the area and it does'nt hert. Seems to be alittle better with less pain and soreness when I have a good bowel movement. Expelling gas seems to take some of the pain away. Any thoughts, its getting old. Thanks

And welcome to the forum. Gosh, I wish I had an instant answer to what was causing your pain and then a quick cure but all I can do is share some experience with you. I do understand what you mean about a 'gas bubble' moving around and causing pain. Not sure what else would cause that. I too remember gall bladder pain from many years ago. Shoulder pain comes with it.

One thing I am sure of is you should get to a doctor soon and have him/her investigate the cause of the pain. There's a reasonable chance it's nothing too serious but then again you can't know until you go. Four years is too long a time to wait to investigate that amount of pain.
