I am a 24 year old female, non smoker or drinker.

The worse kind of chest pain I get is a squeezing pain right side above breast. When it happens get scared ,sweaty. The first time this happened was about 6 years ago. First time got it got on ground and cried was scary and didnt know what was happening.

I Also, i randomly get short,sharp pains same location which happens frequently this past year.

Lastly I get palpitations at-least every week. It feels like my heart "JUMPS" /Flutters.

I got an EKG A couple moths ago and was fine yet doctor didnt want to do anything more.Said could be gas.
I would like to do other tests to be sure.
I was thinking maybe could be from acid reflux /heartburn?
I cant live with this pain anymore. Makes me worry too much.

Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong or have had any similar experiences?


I do have social anxiety(which can get pretty bad sometimes and cause me to worry) but I am not sure thats what causing these problems because I get the squeezing chest pains when I am totally comfortable at home.

Sounds like whatever it is you don't want to fool around. Think it might be a good idea to go to the ER when you feel this coming. As for your doctor , if you know it's not gas than let him know and push the issue. None of us here are doctors so we can't tell you what it is but I strongly suggest that you go to the ER if it's getting that bad. I haven't had that experience so I don't want to even guess. Going to the ER will get you answers a lot faster and of course if you need immediate treatment your at the hospital. Please don't just ignore it and hope your doc thinks of something. If it's bad..go to the ER. I don't want to scare you but chest pains aren't something you should ignore or try to put up with. Sounds to me like you should have gone to the ER already so please don't put it off. Let us know how your doing.

Welcome :)

I, too, get these chest pains - and often it is related to my anxiety. Anxiety is a funny thing and can cause lots of symptoms - even when we aren't expecting it to. My chest will tighten, my heart races, etc. (That being said - I also do have a heart condition called POTS).

There's several things it could be for you.... I would personally talk to my doctor more about it. If you aren't getting anywhere w/ that doctor, maybe try to get a second opinion? Let them know about the anxiety issues; the frequency that you are getting these symptoms and so forth.

Maybe others will have some more ideas - but those are just my late night thoughts. Good luck to you; I hope you can get some answers!

If you've not been to a Cardiologists yet, I suggest you go and see one, an ultra sound
will tell if you've got a heart problem, and that should be ruled out first, then maybe getting
an upper endoscope to rule out any stomach issues like ulcers, if it's not heart related
problems...and then it could be possible anything from anxiety to something related
to Fibromylagia called costochrondrotis...but first check with a cardiologists and do
keep us posted as we do care...many well wishes...
my bad the tests you should get done is called an echocrdiogram (ultra sound) of the heart
and they do a ekg with it, if you have a heart condition it can't hide much from these tests
but the echocardiogram is expensive, our daughter has them yearly and the hospital charges
it to the insurance of over $2,000 for a 5-10 minute test along with the doctors co-pay of $35.00
call your insurance some will only cover it 80% like ours then $750.00...but it does pick up on heart problems...

I too had heart palpitations & pain but mine was a combination of Disease:

1) I went to a Cardiologist who informed me that I have an irregular heart beat (my mom swears she told this but SHE DIDNT!Good going Mom!) But the heart palpitations were related to pain! (My HR was at 150 ALL THE TIME -even at rest!) So he prescribed a heart med (Calcium channel blocker named NIFEDIPINE) that also treats my RAYNAUDS syndrome (hands & feet cold -part of Auto-Immune Disease).

2) the chest pain (in MY SITUATION..NOT SAYING ITS YOURS!) was gastric reflux & as long as I take a Prilosec a day then I'm good!
