Questions about ablation?

Hi Lasardo, if this were me, absolutely I would want light sedation for this procedure. Even with light sedation you will feel some pain but its at a tolerable level. I do have a high pain tolerance too.My dr talked to me during the procedure and asked if I felt pain at certain levels. Its not something I would want to do on a weekly basis. I had this done on both my neck and low back. It worked great on my neck when everything else had failed there. As for my low back pain it did nothing for it. Before having the actual procedure done my PM dr did a diagnostic block to see if that relieved my pain, is your dr going to do this or not.

I think its worth having the procedures done but not without sedation, we hurt enough as it is. Good luck and take care.

            ...I'm with Stray on this, and would certainly opp for the "Sedation" ....and I'm thinking retiredmom has had the "Ablation" done more than once...but I could be wrong. Maybe she will swing by and see this post.

     I guess we have to be patient to the will of the medical soceity at times to get what we need, but I understand your frustration with the matter. I don't blame you one bit!

       Hopefully this will work, and you will get that much needed relief that you need. I'm still waiting on MRI reports and getting this Pain Pump decided on, or at least the process started. At the moment, I don't have a good feeling about all of it, and bet the Insurance will balk at it.

I have had it done, actually within the last two months and while I felt some relief from the left side, when I got the right side done all of the pain came back, so now I'm back to square one. You do not want to do this without sedation- my Dr put me out both times, but woke me up when he was doing the actual burning because I had to give him feedback.
