Hi Lynn
I had a positive experience with these patches, it was the first stronger medication I was put on and the first medication that really helped with my pain. It worked quite well for me at first and took the edge off most of the pain most of the time and even completely at times. I did have a very bad episode of breakthrough pain on this medication but don`t think it was because of the medication, then the doctor gave me oxycodone immediate release for breakthrough. I think I was on too high a dose of patches when I mixed them with oxycodone as I felt pretty out of it and very nauseous, though this could have been me getting used to both medications. I have switched to oxycontin now but just thought I`d let you know my experience was mainly positive from this drug, but everyone is different. This drug is thought to be less addictive so doctors may be more likely to prescribe it than morphine etc. This is what some heroin addicts take for withdrawals instead of methadone and when I went to the pharmacy the first time I got some strange looks from the pharmacists, I had no idea why so went home to research it and found out lol. Anyway I hope you get on a medication that helps soon. Love Di xx
