Nureo Stimulator Problems

I have had my implant for just over a year and I have found
that sometimes the cure is worse than the problem.I have constant pain over the SCS site and can't sleep Due to the pressure from on the site. I recently bent over and and had a sharp pain shoot down my right arm the problem is the stimulator is for my left arm. Now I have a numb tingling in my right arm constantly. I am guessing the lead has moved. I am no longer close to my surgeon that did the implant and was wondering if anyone had suggestions as how to approach a new doctor with this kind of problem.
I feel like I would be better off without the SCS but that is a different problem in its self. Any suggestions or has anyone else had any luck getting the SCS removed. I am sorry for the rambling nature of this post but I am totally new at this

Hi B38 and welcome to the chronic pain forum. I am sorry to read that you are having problems with your SCS unit but that seems run of the mill with those things. I am assuming that you have moved and this is why you are not close to the surgeon that implanted the device. Do you have a primary care physician that can refer you to a new surgeon? It is possible one of the leads did move. This happens and many times the patient has to have a new lead put in. If you are interested in having the unit removed there again you will need a surgeon. I guess you will need to decide which way you want to go and then see a surgeon. We have been told most drs will only remove the unit and leave the leads in due to scar tissue formation. Recently there has been a couple of people that has posted their drs removed everything. They only posted the one time and never came back.

Thanks for all of the support. I am going back to the referring physician to try for some relief. The leads have moved far enough that it is now numbing my entire right hand. That would leave me entirely helpless so I am holding out hope. I would recommend to anyone considering the SCS to exhaust all options before you give in to the SCS. It is not surprising at all to hear that people pull their post after removal.
