I have mixed feelings about
methadone, its not expensive and it works well as a pain reliever. It also carries a stigma with it, it was u,sed mostly in the 70, 80s and 90s as a way to control heroin addicts (and it did a poor job of that). I was on it for about
8 years, it was given to me as a way to control pain, my doctor warned me about
the problems that go with it. My doctor took another job, a better job he said, he had children to put through college, I tried not to hate him and of course I let it go, as it was selfish of me to want him to stay because I needed him to write script
s for me. That was 2006, for the next 4 and 1/2 years I saw some of the craziest doctors in the U.S.

The next to the the last refused to write scripts for methadone, he gave me 60mg ms-contin witht p 10mg percocet for bt pain. Even with that in my system, it took at least 9- 10 of withdrawal from the methdone. Although it does good for pain, a person has to be very careful when taking methadone, it can be very dangerous.
Good Luck,
Kathy
