Hello  all, I am back a little at a time anyway.  A warning for anyone asked to have a myelogram which is what I asked to do .  I made the appt. I was taken back to a surgery room, an  IV was put in my hand.  In the surgery room, I was asked to roll onto my stomach, at this time I figured they would give me something to relax me with, otherwise why the IV, was I ever wrong, they rubbed alcohol on my back told me to be not told me not to move, they then shot a 12 inch needle in my back until they found the bad nerve, then shot dye into my back took pictures for contrast and it was over.  I asked the doc, why give me an IV if they werent going to use it to help with the pain, to which he answered, since I hadnt yelled out or moved he quessed I was ok. I was not, never again, I will  research everything anyone does to me from now on.

But I made it, I have the cd and I go back on the 18th and find out whats going on,  and get it fixed.

So thanks one and all for hanging in there with me.

OMG, I have endured a lot of tests but that sounds like cruel punishment. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks all for caring and all your good thoughts.  When I read up on mylegrams, it nothing more than a spinal tap.  I dont understand, why would i need a spinal tap?

Well guess I will find out on the 18th.

I have been posting all afternoon, but wanted to get here, and welcome you back Kathy!

Sorry to hear of the procedure trouble, and it irks me that they would do that! It's uncalled for completely!…and I sympathize with you. That is one reason I absolutely make sure we have that down in writing and a verbal assurance from the Tech that is doing the injection. I flat out won't do one without sedation. Period!

Hope you can visit us more, as you have been more than missed here you know! ...I have had many a member ask about you too!…so thanks for the update, and get to feeling better please!

I'm sorry that the idiot technician didn't give you sedation, but at least it's over now. Please keep us updated on what you find out, ok? Take care.

Hi Kathy I have had two myelograms, the first one I had I was in the military in Anchorage Alaska, that was in 1985 they did not sedate me or give me anything for pain and they had to stick me three time before they could get the needle in and they put it in my lower back I was strapped to the table and they rotated the table so I was litterally upside down so the dye could run down toward my head so they could get pictures of my cervical spine in my neck!I have never had anything so painful done to me in my life! The second one I had done was in 2000 and they sedated me and I don't remember anything except for after it was over with I had severe leg and hip pain, and the next day I had to go back to the hospital and they gave me a shot of Decadron, as they said the pain was caused from swelling from the needle hitting the nerve, and that can happen when a patient is sedated when having this procedure done. So to me, I don't ever want to have another one whether sedated or not sedated. I can really empathize with you! It is not a fun test to have!
