Trigger finger- when to seek second opinion

I had surgery for 3 trigger fingers and carpal tunnel three and a half months ago. Two fingers and the carpal tunnel all healed great and work normally again.

That is not the case for one finger. It started out with an infection. Then we found out that part if a stitch was left in that finger and finally worked itself out. That finger still doesnt bend well, hurts all the time and is still quite swollen.

The OT released me back to the surgeon who said everything was fine. It could be swollen for a full year, and she told me that it didn't hurt. I teach preschool and it is getting more difficult by the day because everything I do is with my hands.

I know there is something not right going on. I do have the name of another hand specialist from the OT, but was told to be careful and wait a few weeks do I don't look like I am dr shopping.

How long would you wait, knowing it is likely to take a few weeks to get an appointment anyway?
