Medication change to exalgo coming...appreciate info

I've been in pain management for a few years now. For the last six years give or take, Roxycodone in the same dose all that time, then a Fentanyl 50 patch was added ~2.5 years ago and basically made no difference. Didn't stick worth a flip. I have a very careful doctor and it took a LONG time to find him and I trust him.

Last month he finally replaced that worthless (to me) patch and started me on time release morphine sulfate. It was the first time in ages my pain was nearly nonexistent...for the first few days, anyway. Im developing a tolerance to it quickly.

Next month he's switching me to the exalgo, 12mgX2, and is going to taper some of the roxy off. I'm just wondering if people are really getting good pain relief from this stuff. I'm not at all one of those people that gives a crap about a "buzz"...I'd just like to be able to stand up for more than 10 minutes so I can do what I gotta do to take care of my family without hurting so bad I have to go lie down.

For what it's worth, I do get tired of those people who assume I'm some kind of druggie....and for all those idiots, I wish they would have to live a while in our shoes.....especially the lawmakers who seem to want to do whatever they can to prevent people from receiving the help they need, and harassing the GOOD doctors out there who care about relieving suffering. I'm NOT a fan of the quacks like those in Florida who are nothing but drug dealers who are responsible for countless deaths simply because they want to get rich. They just make it worse for those of us who truly suffer.

theoretically if you get the Exalgo dose where you need it, it should be good. the only thing is there is not much feedback yet about it and it is 10x more than MSER. hydromorphone is a great med that i take daily like you take your Roxi's and i use morphine sulfate ER 100mg 2 tabs every 12hrs. it would like to hear about Exalgo but the only thing that would make me nervous is getting less Roxi's with the first Exalgo Rx. i don't know how your money is but i like the generic morphine sulfate ER by several generic manufactuers.

I've tried Jurnista... which is our hydromorphone ER med here in Australia. For whatever reason, ter my body went through it in a snap - it almost might as well have been a breakthrough med. I had a couple of hours of very average pain relief, and it had worn off entirely within about eight hours, instead of lasting the whole 24.
