strange and unusual hair growth? is this normal?

This is a little embarrassing, but I just noticed it about an hour ago, its a little strange to me. So here it goes, dont laugh please lol.

Ok, so I had a little bit of a tingly itch on my back, right on the surface, on the outside of where most of the pain in my back is at. This did seem a little unusual, since that spot on the surface has been numb, like a doctor injected a local anesthetic, for months now. So, like any other itch, I went ahead and scratched it a bit. Having not been able to physically view this area for a long time, I was a little curious when it felt a little fuzzy, and a little bumpy. So I did what any other 28 year old with a good camera phone would do, guided myself with my bathroom mirror and got a couple good pics of it to look at (this took close to 30 minutes).

Much to my surprise, there's a thin, short patch, of lightly colored hair there. This was not there several months ago, I've never had back hair before, or at least not there lol. There's also some slighty raised bumps there that look like ingrown hairs possibly, not sure though, but they don't look like acne.

So, I'm just a little embarrassed to be talking about this, but also just a little dumbfounded that there would be any hair growing right there. Is this normal or sound like something anyone else has seen before? Or is this just one of the ravages of old age that I should be expecting as time goes?

I know, ask my doctor lol. I have a preop appointment on Monday, so I'll ask him then. Just wondering if anyone else had that before? I don't take my shirt off around anyone anyways, so it's not that big of a deal, and not dating either, just a little curious about it. Sorry if this seems like a petty thing to ask about.

A lot of times when taking opiates it has an effect on your hormones and sometimes patients need some type of testosterone replacement but in your case you might be overproducing testosterone causing the hair growth and even some pimples..You might even go thru puberty again...

It sounds to me like it could be a case of Becker's nevus (it's harmless). But as mentioned, your doctor is the best one to ask.

I'm glad you mentioned it to the doc! Thanks for the reminder about bringing our concerns forward... you never know when that little "missing" piece of information can help us.

Haha yeah, Scottish, all my family were Cameron clan, my ex wife used to say I was florescent with my shirt off or wearing shorts, lots of skin cancer in the family too because of such a pale complection, personally, I don't go out in the sun without at least spf 50, and given that at one point in my life, I weighed 401lbs (152 today) you wont catch me at the beach with my shirt off. My son has it made, my ex wife was pure Sicilian, and he got her ability to tan up in 30 minutes, plus my physical strength, at 1 year old, he picked up my bowling bag with a 15lb ball in there, plus shoes, and carried it across the house one handed, so I'm visualizing a football contract in his future somewhere lol.

But yeah, my beard grows in fast, thick, and red with a blonde stripe down the middle, thinking there might be more back hair and possible waxing in my future lol. We'll see what happens, but I know the doctor thinks that I'd benefit from a testosterone supplement, so we'll see what happens with that, I'm hoping to hit another growth spirt, being 5'8" and the rest of the family except my twin brother, is over 6'2". The doctor said he thinks my gastric bypass happened too early in my life, and that it stopped my growing, said he thinks that now I might be experiencing pre-mature male menopause, and that it's taking it's toll on my back and the rest of my body. I dont actually expect to grow anymore, or grow the hair back on my head, bit it'd sure be nice to actually feel 28, even if only for a little while.

 Are you referring to a reiver/raider clan? Im a Bell (armigerous). Anyway I've got Native American from my mothers side and tan pretty good but have all the other Scottish traits.

If you ever like to read/have the time go to Google,click on more options, click on books and search Border Raids and Reivers. It's apretty dark time for English and Scottish. Im American but think its good to learn your history but never relive it.
