Good morning Lynn!…and a very warm welcome to you!
Lynn, we are so glad you found this forum, and we all fully understand the chronic pain that you are living with. I also, suffer from a failed lumbar surgery, and now suffer bulging disc along with it in my cervical spine. Coming to terms with chronic pain is one of the hardest things to do. and I myself really don't blame anyone for looking back on their healthy past. The human will is amazing, and I think that is what gives us some hope. We keep wishing that either mother nature will heal our bodies….or that a miracle med will come along and give us total relief.
Sadly, that seldom happens, and we are left standing in the middle of a oneway road, that seems never ending. Friends, family…and coworkers have abandoned us after a long period of abuse, and there we stand all alone, mystified at what happened, and full mental and physical pain.
Those of us that have joined and stuck with the chronic pain forum here on HealingWell, understand that part of the mental survival is to share and seek support from others who suffer the same affliction. I hope you consider staying and making this your chronic pain support home. We come from all walks of life and from every point on the globe. Our constant pain and suffering may come from many different causes, but the one thing we all share and understand is the Chronic Pain itself.
Lynn, when you get some free time, be sure to visit the "Chronic Pain 101" located up at the top of our home page. There are lots of articles packed full of valuable information. There should be a few tools that may be handy for you as well,…like a daily pain journal you can print out and keep a record of. This may be something that you can share with your PCD/PM. There should be a pain scale there as well, that gives a descript
ion of each number on the scale from 1-10. Of course…a quick peek at the forum rules never hurts either, so feel free to view those.
With the chronic pain forum, you pretty much get out of it what you put into it, so if your looking for understanding and daily support,... I wholeheartedly encourage you to engage, and get to know the members. You will find that the effort is well worth it…and has been such a blessing for many of us here. We always accept support for our members as well, and if you have experience in areas that members are seeking, feel free to do so. It will be greatly appreciated…more than you know. The chronic pain forum depends on members who give of themselves when they can,... and many of our members support here on a daily basis,….and our moderators are extremely grateful to them.
