Finally some news...medical update

Finally got word at 0900 on the dot from my oncologist via his nurse.  The good news - no indication of pancreatitis or pancreatic cancer - emzene levels appear normal, and CAT scan did not detect anything obvious.  He still realizes something is going on, and I will be meeting with him at 300 PM to go over scan in detail and see what he wants to do next.  While I am thankful that there is nothing critically wrong - the problem is still there, along with the loss of weight, the loss of appitite, and all the pain that now comes with eating.

Appreciate every single prayer and good wishes along the way of this ordeal.

Is it possible that the loss of appetite and pain when eating is all just related to having cancer and what you have been thru? Like a side effect of cancer maybe?

Whilst I know there is something wrong the fact it is not cancer must be good. It does seem as though our prayers have been answered. I know you have to get some treatment for the problems you are having and lets hope there is something that will help you eat without the awful pain you are in.

I hope the appointment goes well and wait to see what your oncologist thinks. I will check back at my bedtime,I think you are about five hours behind me. I know this must be a huge relief for your wife as well. My love to her also.

I really hope that you can quickly get on an appetite medication...There are a few to choose from that work really well. I took care of my cousing who had AIDS and this medication helped him for many years.

And obviously none of us know all the answers but I think I mentioned before that because you haven't felt up to exercising at all or doing much, then that in turn will have your appetite going away....

We all hope that the Drs. can find out what is going on but for now we will jump for joy on wonderful news! As I mentioned...try not to spend all the days worrying or taking away living your life joyfully while trying to figure all this out. That will just waste those days....

And now you can at least look forward to the great cruise with your beautiful wife and hopefully have a medication to take to enjoy some of the yummy food they offer!

David this news is wonderful, yes you have something else going on but this was a big one to rule out. I certainly hope you are able to enjoy the cruise without spending the trip worrying about the unknown.

So happy to hear that it wasnt bad news, hopefully they can get a handle on whats going on and make some sort of fix. Hopefully you and the wife can relax a tiny bit for your trip.

Awesome news, hope they figure it out

David, I hope now you can get on that cruise ship and really enjoy yourself. Maybe the sea air will kick in your appetite and the food will be inviting. The fruit selection was always my downfall, lol. Oh, I could get I could get into some serious trouble there, quite a bit of it I can't eat.
