Survivors....Monday!

I hope each of you had a nice and pain free weekend. 

Last Friday I visited the skin cancer center and got reprimanded for being away so long...who knew three years would pass so quickly.  Anyway, I guess I had "forgotten" that I had skin cancer determined at the last visit (3 years ago). That was during the time my memory was so bad from the pituatory disorder.  Sooo...they did a thorough check and took off three more places.  On on the right wrist, one on the very back of my neck and one on my left buttock.....strange to me, but that's what they found.  They are more concerned about these because it turns out both my mother and father have had bouts of melonoma in situ that was a pretty high stage.  Daddy is dead now, but Mother had her neck reconstructed about a year ago after a large melonoma came up there.

The weekend went as most do right now....some good...some bad, but that is for another time and place.  Today was a bone density scan that had to be done over and over for some reason and a mamogram that was about 9 months past due.  I guess that time passed pretty quickly too.  So now I wait on that and the rest of my more recent test results.

I did get a copy of the letter from the "second opinion PM" which was crazy even to me.  I'll have to figure out exactly what he said before I post more about it.  The one thing that "killed me" was that he listed the exact amount of weight that he feels I need to loose....which would leave me weighing less than 95 lbs....Hello????? 95 lbs is NOT a healthy weight for a large framed woman with exceptionally long hands/feet who is 5'2".....at least I don't think 95 lbs is reasonable for many people at all as a healthy weight.  He sounds like he has his own set of issues to me.

So, overall I survived the weekend and the other things are still up in the air.  I hope you all had a great weekend and can settle down for another week of whatever makes you happy!

     ...took off work early Thursday and got all new tires put on my jeep and the wifes van...then got an oil change. Friday morning we hit the road with my mother in-law and went to the Kansas State fair. We really had a great time, and got home around 11pm that night.

    Got up early Saturday morning, and had breakfast with the wife, then back home, and slept till 2pm! I was flat worn out from the fair!  

    Yesterday, we went to a local cat show, thanks to Chartreux for telling us about it. Lots of Texas cats there! It was out first cat show, and we happened to see the breeder that we bought our cat from a couple of years ago. she asked if she could show our cat for us next year. Deborah photographed one of the owners cats that was there, and she knew the president of the show...so we were now asked to be the photographers for next years show. (Not sure we want to do this) I think there were a little over a hundered cats there at this show.

   Spent the rest of the day sleeping again, trying to get rested up for today. We needed it! All in all, the long weekend was a good one, and since my meds were upped, it helped a bit. The morpehine is still not working as planned, so we will have to look for a different ER med again. I bumped into a nurse at the cat show, and visited with her, and found that shw worked with a lot of chronic pain patients. After telling her my history dealing with CP...she said it seems like I need to look at the pain pump and give it some serious consideration. We will see, but I had not planned on getting that far before retirement, and hope I don't have to.
