Hello Bunny!…I have not had one of these, but have heard of them…and it is usually placed in the end of the sacrum. Make sure you ask for sedation if they offer it, as I have heard that they can be painful. I'm not talking about
the deadener in the shot…but sedation!….ask for it! Some of the Dr's will say that you won't need it, but if you press for it, ….then they may oblige you.
This is one injection that many patients say they hear the needle grinding against the bone as they look for the very small
opening at the end of the sacrum. It is a very small space that they must hit just right.
I'm not trying to worry you, and I'm hoping another member with experience on this will comment here for you. All I'm giving you is what I have heard from others here. You may try the search feature as well….I'm sure you will find some information on it…and of course I always stand corrected on information here, as I can be wrong from time to time. (others will say often)
... My own experience is with Epidurals in the cervical and lumbar regions of the spine.
Take care…and again, ask for sedation!
