Survivors....Monday!

      ...ah...work!...and more work! Sunday they had me running two machines at the same time....and when I got home I hit the bed and was out! My pain med review is coming up on Wed, and will certianlly need another med change. The morphine is not working even at the higher dose...so its out. I think either Friday or Sat evening we went to a friends cancer benefit fund raiser event, complete with a whole hog BBQ. That was tasty! There were lots of friends and family there to support him.

    We have a busy week ahead with a few home repairs, a steakfeed this weekend, and my wifes birthday as well.

All I can say is thank God I have a pm appointment today. An accident yesterday lost me all but 4 of my Ir medication, it was all that was helping me too. We think a number very high dose of an ER medication, taken in closer than usual intervals might allow for some absorption with the gastric bypass, but they said the best thing I could go on to smooth things out would be the patch. Knowing that the car ride today is going to be far more brutal than sitting around the house, I decided the best thing to do was to save what I have for then.

My pain has been through the roof since yesterday morning, barely able to get up and use the bathroom, and just in tears from that, by the time I lay back down. Well, with the increase of the IR med, I barely had enough to get me to the pharmacy on Tuesday morning, not sure what I'm going to do now, just have to tough it out, because the ER medication that I have isn't even taking the edge off. I would have gone into the emergency room, but I don't think, even with pictures of the horrible tragedy that befell my medication, they would have done more than tell me that it's not their job, pretty much what they said last week.

I'm going to try to get into my PM early, but the freeways I have to go down aren't very good for ealy day travel, if I don't hit it just right, I could be stuck taking an hour to move 15 miles, lovely LA traffic. Hopefully I'll be able to hit the pharmacy tonight, I'll post later on when I have hopefully some better news to share. And never set your medication bottle and a cup of coffee where they can drop on the floor from a bump, ugh, just had to stand there, unable to bend down, and watch in horror, yelling for my mom, while the coffee turned all the pills into gue, and trying to keep my son away from the mess... I feel so stupid for letting that happen, and I'm sure paying the price for carelessness.

I know what you mean, I think, if I hadn't have been trying to corral my son, I might have been able to get down and get some of them picked up. But, I'd rather hurt, than have him get ahold of one. Nine years ago, when I was fixing the air-conditioning ducts on my grandmothers new house, a modular home, I found a large pile of what turned out to be heart medication, in the floor vent in the master bath; a few of us wondered if that may have been the cause of the previous owners unfortunate passing, since we did find out that he had not been taking his medication. Makes you wonder, especially with something so tragic as that.

Saturday - helped wife get packed for her week long business trip, went out and ate steak, big mistake, had miserable evening with stomach cramping and back pains

Sunday - drove wife to airport early - she was going to Memphis for a week for training, she is a nurse. Only ate a small bowl of cereal the entire day. It quickly turned into cramping

Monday (today) was out at some books stores promoting my latest novel. Got one offer for a book signing in December, another dealer wants to stock my books immediately. That was the good part.

Went to lunch with my ex-boss, big mistake. Ate a small grilled chicken salad, that's it. As we were driving away, he got to witness me going into full cramp-down mode. We had to drop something off at his else, I was about to expode in pain. Had to make an embarrasing pit stop at this house. Went to the bank, in the middle of making a transaction, had to abort, and barely made it to the "facilities".

Went home, more of the same. Left me so drained, that I took an over due dose of pain meds, and laid down for 2 hours. Up now, but no one am I going to eat anything else. It hurts too much to each.

The surgical unit called this afternoon, and still going to have the endoscopy and colonoscopy done this Thursday. I have to have an answer, I can't keep going on like this. It's just too painful, and still losing a pound or more a day in weight, and still dealing with all my cancer related CP on top of it.

Sorry, this may turn into a vent.

Going to stop while I am ahead, no one wants to hear all this bad news.

things have calmed down this evening, fingers crossed, hoping not to have another flare up like i had at noon today. it was rough for sure. a person can only take so much, my limits are starting to be pushed with this whole 4 year fisaco i have been living through

rose, thanks for your kind words. and yes, HW is my family too, in the real sense. i do a good job of holding in my emotions and pain, but as i tell those around me. i am a human, quite frail in reality, and can only contain the feelings of constant pain. i certainly can't be sugar and sunshine 24/7, not possible, lol.

it would be easy to feel like i have been targeted for punishment in this life sometimes, but the rational side of my brain doesnt really believe that. its more the luck of the draw i think, as it truly rains on the just and unjust alike.
