Hi there...
Just wanted to pop in and say hello. I, also, do not live in Indiana but hope that you can find a good Dr.
Just know that it can sometimes take a few tries. When I was in between my 2nd and 3rd fusion...I met with about
4 different PMs/clinics. Of course I was not accepting or wanting pain medication at these first visits...just wanting to see if it was a match for both of us.
Thankfully I found my now PM who even though he is located in a larger Spine Institute where my Neurosurgeon is...he is the main Dr. In the 6 years that I have gone there...I have always had my appt. with him. I only see the nurses or PAs for a quick BP check or chat beforehand. He also still takes close to 30 minutes with me.
I think it's all about
what the DR. has to offer and to me, I wanted one that sees pain management as a multifaceted approach using every possible modality both medicinally and non medicinally.
The only thing that I found a bit puzzling is your other post to Needadvice...in that one you make it sound like you already have a PM and are wanting them to email you as you will give them the name of yours?
Either way...I hope that you stick around as this is a great group of people...we are a "family" of sorts and truly empathize what it's like to live with CP.
Good luck..
