Trigger finger question

Is it normal for the finger directly beside the trigger finger to be swollen?
My index finger is the one that has trigger finger, and is so painful and swollen that it's hard to use it anymore. I had to have my 8 year old open a jar for me because I couldn't.

The middle finger beside it is also swollen and very painful. I don't have the "trigger" problem with it, but very sore and hard to bend.

Is this normal or could this be the "trigger' starting in this digit too?

        Hello Lisanne!

           I'm sorry I cannot answer your question...and I was thinking that you asked this a month ago or so?...and have you not had the surgery yet?..as you said it was supposed to be done in Oct.

    Have you visited with the surgeon about it...or your PCD? I would not have a clue as to what the trigger finger is like, but do know that it can be very painful.

       Take care, and I hope somebody here can answer your question for you,...however, it would be the best to ask your Dr/surgeon about it.

I have had trigger finger in both thumbs and two different fingers. For me, the only ones that have been painful are the ones triggering. Right now, I have one still triggering 7 months after release, and probably have to get that fixed soon. It is swollen and painful but has not effected any neighboring fingers.
