Hello everyone!
Happy Holidays and best health wishes in the next year.
Thank you all for posting your health problems in this site; it has been of so much support to me during these lonely days. Everyone's ideas, comments, advices, and problems have help me so much.
I have been with an upper left abdominal pain since March/2012. I have so many symptoms such as: tingling and numbing, pins and needles, headaches, pain in the entire left side of body from head to my left ear, pain on lower back going up my shoulder (left), hypoglycemia (recently developed), bitter taste, itching without rash, fatigue, tiredness, irritability, pain in the stomach when pressure occurs, depression. All of these symptoms have prompted me to see the following doctors: Internal MDs; GIs, Neurologists, Endocrinologists, OB/GYN, Rheumatologist, and GI/Hepatologist. I have been battling with all of these symptoms without any answers as all of my blood tests have shown within range. MRIs, CTs, Ultrasounds, and XRs did not show abnormalities in the upper stomach. I also change my diet, did acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, all with no results. My symptoms and pain has only increased. It has been the most frustrating and stressful year of my life because I've been walking around without any diagnose, GRRRR!! Anyhow, I want to say NEVER accept what the doctors tell you. I was told that my pain was not real, handed to the wrong doctors, my second GI told me that it was stress, another GI said to go to another doctor because he ran out of ideas.
After every doc's visit, I came to this site looking for ideas, hope, and guidance. Yes, I found all that, thanks!! So, I want to tell others like me to do research by talking to others, reading books, internet, visiting doctors, and changing your diet, praying, and distressing. All of these strategies have helped me to gain patience and perseverance to get to the right doctor. I am still in pain, but I am so thankful that someone (Moderator) here gave the advice "Go to see a Hepatologist/GI." I immediately called one who offered me some meds while I wait for an Endoscopic Ultrasound and an ERCP (if needed) which will be done in a hospital. All GIs practice at a well known hospital, but it is interesting that all of these docs use different technology and have different medical interests. Hopefully, my problem will be figured out and treated soon. The bad part about this is that my appointment is until January 7th, uggh!! I'll keep you posted after my procedure.
Warm wishes and thanks,
