Merry Christmas and a happy New Years to each and every brother and sister here at HW Chronic Pain. Joining your group this year has made a huge difference in my life this year, wished I had done that sooner, with all I have been dealing with. All your prayers, encouragement, advice, tips, and kind words have helped improve my personal QOL, I mean that sincerely.
And this goes for the support and care for my wife over the past 2 months, it means a great deal to me (us).
We had a good Christmas. While the least amount of money was spent ever (no one was doing that well in the money department this year), it ended up perhaps being one of our best and closest Christmases.
There were 11 of us. Wife and I. Oldest son and his wife and our 2 grand kids. Daughter and her husband from Charleston, youngest son and his fiance, and my 85 year old mother. So the entire clan was here in person at our house.
We had a nice buffet style spread first, in our formal dining room. everyone contributed some portion of the meal. The women of the family spent a good part of Saturday and Sunday baking and such.
After eating, we moved to the living room, where our tiny 3' tree was hardly seen under the piles of presents.
I was amazed that our grandkids (ages 6 and 10), wanted to eat first before opening presents.
Then, everyone went back to the dining room, and my daughter played piano, oldest son brought a guitar along, and Christmas songs were played and sung by most.
The grand kids had to go home, of course, because Santa was still coming. Four of the other family members spent the night with us, to be with us Christmas morning.
My wife was glowing, as she had all her babies, young and old, gathered under her wings. We both had to take mutiple naps through this time, as joyous as the event was, didn't slow down my CP or her post surgery back pain, but no one complained.
All in all, it was a good Christmas in our home, one we will all remember.
Hope things went well for the rest of you all here.
