In horrible pain, fear I may end up back in ER.

I am stuck at work, and in horrible pain due to my endometriosis. I was in the er last week due to the pain. They were going to admit me due to my pain level. I have been in contact with my Doctor's and we are at a loss as to why I am flaring so badly. I am just so frustrated because I have to deal with people with physical, and mental disabilities. This requires a lot of lifting of the people. Which aggravates my endo pretty darn bad.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am currently taking Percocet 5/325mg, Diluaded 2mg and Tramadol 50 mgs 1-2 tabs. I have also tried warm showers, laying down with a heating pad. Getting off my feet, and trying to take it easy.

I am at a loss! Help!

I am only mentioning this because it is VERY real right now. There are so many people in the emergency rooms that many hospitals are on overflow status. I know that (with what was determined a "true" life threatening emergency, people are literally waiting on "beds" in the halls to be treated.

If you can make it one more day, then I would try.

My step-father had a heart attack last night. There were 74 other people ahead if him for treatment. Luckily the on call dr was at a party at the home of his cardiologist and she did a direct admit (one the ambulance got him there).

I hope you find a comfortable position and the appropriate medications to help you make it until the answere come tomorrow.

Im reading your post trying to think of anything at all that might help and knowing full well that endo is tricky since no 2 ppl respond the same way to treatment. There is still alot they dont understand about why it happens to some to higher degrees then others.

So saying all that to myself I have no idea,so sorry you have to work with this kinda pain. If at all possible you might have to take some time off until this calms down some. Im certain the lifting and tugging isnt helping alot either.

If the E/R helps that is where I would head.

Big hugs to you and I know there are others here with endo that will possibl have some ideas for you.

I really do not know what to tell you other than you know your limit. I am terrified of hospitals right now because so many are there being treated for the flu. When I was put in the hospital a couple of weeks ago I sure did not want to be there for that reason. Is there a chance of getting in to see your dr tomorrow? He really needs to see you when you are at your worst moment.

Fortunately I have the next four days off of work. I can try to get into see my doctor, but he is always so full. There is a waiting list to be seen. I just hate that I am in so much pain. It is physically draining, as well as emotionally.

Hi BlueD Pain is such a subjective thing, and it can be difficult to control, may I ask have you tried to do guided imagery or anything like that, it might not relieve your pain but maybe divert your attention from it and help you manage till you can see your doctor. Even try alternating hot and cold, on different parts of your body, just to try get your attention on something other than your pain. Being a man I know that I can not totally relate to the pain your having, but with that said, there are certain tactics that are somewhat universal on treating pain, everyone is different so you will have to experiment a little to find out what will work for you. What I am suggesting is just a stop gap solution to just possibly help you make it through till you can get the medical help you need. And of course come here, and vent and share with us as we all care about each other and want to help. I do hope you can get some relief soon!

When I get home I am gonna try the heat and cold that you suggested. I have also tried to do some deep breathing, not exactly guided imagery. Hopefully my Dr. can get me in to see them tomorrow. If not I dunno what I am gonna do!

Well try and hang in there BlueD, we are all here to give you our support, and we do all care. I know what it is like to have irretractable pain, and it is tough, it just takes over all of your being, but know your not alone with it, you do have people here that can empathize with you, and are here for you! I wish I could be of more help, but hopefully you  can see your doctor soon and he can help you!
